well i agree the teams they swept were below them but in the regular season they are 2-1 with OKC. With okc you have to slow them down because their half court offense is utter garbage and spurs are able to play the game at their own pace. While i do think its gonna be a good series i just don't see okc beating them 4 times, but hey i could be wrong

I don't mind it if Kobe takes 30 shots. Just as long as it's not forced, like the previous games. Last night he played very well. The bigs were'nt making shit. Think they were 9/25 combined.

Most of the shots were forced with isolation and highly contested. This time it just doesn't look bad because he actually made them.

Bynum barely got touches on the post. Kobe took all the shots. You can't win playoff games like that.

It's always been like this for the Lakers though. Even when they won back to back championships, Kobe was taking all of the shots. The better team won the series. Lakers were just outplayed.

I just took a quick look at the Finals vs. the Magic, and Kobe shot 30+ in 2 out of 5 games. They won them both. So it's not always Kobe taking 30 shots and they lose. I'm just saying that's the way the Lakers offense goes. It's been like that for the past few years. Kobe is a volume shooter. I don't always agree with it but it worked in the past and I don't think it's going to change until Kobe retires.

Those 30+ shots stats are very misleading. Sometimes he starts off hot or cold which relates to the offense being out of sync and when they are down in double digits during the fourth he plays hero kobe ball trying to bring them back. At times this would work or it could backfire. Keep in mind he gets least 3-4 grenade shots simply cause pau didnt assert himself or just pass the ball around which results to "just give kobe the ball with 7 secs". On the contrary if you look at the lakers stats when kobe shots under 20 attempts they have a better winning rate. You can relate this with good team ball movement everyone is scoring so he dont need to play kobe ball, it goes both ways.

Anyways kobe's usage rate was a league leading 38% which is eye popping, shaq (lakers) days his all time high was 36% iirc. kobe is being over worked in this brown system, new offense, condense season or hes just trying to prove hes still an elite player at 33 with tons of mins played or maybe all of the above. Im mostly impressed by his drive! i mean most players after one ring lose that desire (dirk admitted he lost motivation). Just respect and marvel kobe cause theres not goona be another.
