Speaking of stealing car shit ... my folks were in Detroit for my brother's wedding a while back. While they were at the ceremony, someone stole the rims from their rented. I mean it was a total shit box. Made no sense. Here was their car surrounded by cars that were 50K to $250K. I mean if you were going to steal some rims, you'd go for the Infiniti, Bimmer, Benz, Ferrari or the like. Some folks have the strangest taste.

Crate LS3 420HP/440TQ $6500 .
Transmission, bell housing, flywheel, hoses, rad, oil cooler, pulleys, motor mounts, $3800. Engine management, $3500 Wiring and harness, $500 Tune $1000 Exhaust $1000 Labour 50 hours @ 75$, $3750 ~$20K Stage 1.5 Supercharger 7 PSI 440HP/320TQ $8000 Software $800 Tune $500 Labour ~15 hours @ 75$ = $1125 ~$11K The supercharger is likely the way to go. Low boost, less parts, uses stock equipment ... Unless an LS1 or LS3 falls in my lap.

and it kind of makes sense that they steal the rims off the rental. owners of cheaper cars tend to be.... well cheap (no offence). they are more of these cars around and the owners are more likely to buy used rims off some random guy on the internet or off the street. plus the more expensive cars usually have tilt sensor alarms installed so if the car is lock and someone jacks up the car, the alarm goes off. cheap cars usually have no alarm whatsoever. easy target.

I saw it on Carbuzz as well. I can't believe there is no protection for the driver if it flips other than his HELMET!

There is a re-inforced tower component that keeps the drivers head from being the primary support on a flip, but that does mean that something couldn't strike a drivers head. I'd feel pretty vulnerable as well.

Crazy, aint it? It's a 9K upgrade option on the Porsches.

The Audi RS5 front ceramic option is 8k but the replacement parts are around 14 to 16 just for the fronts. Mind you... As long as the car is not tracked they should last the life of the car. Tracking ceramics is a very expensive option considering your regular BBK's (non ceramic) have no fade. I had looked up the price to change my old Brembo discs and found them at Zeckhausen Racing for 330 each. Can do 30 changes to one ceramic.

definitely no joke...
here's the price for the stock front rotors only... US pricing too. u should see what porsche prestige or lauzon charges for a pair of fronts.... almost 40% more expensive than US pricing. insane.

when its time for me to change my rotors, i will likely switch to a stoptech or brembo bbk or something similar. no way i am buying replacement ceramic rotors. i can buy an entire BBK kit for less than the replacement cost of just the front rotors. from the looks of it though, the ceramics are holding up really well. the car has at least 10k kms of track mileage on it and the ceramics still look like new except for a very very small chip on one of the rotors. no cracks or delamination on the surface at all. so i guess its not all hype...

Nice to see that it's catching on in India, but I'm having a hard time picturing it. The roads are soo bad, and there is so much crap that will wreck your paint job, doors, rear, front, rims, etc. that it hardly seems worth it.
