Real good. I took my E30 from new to 256K and this E90 from new to 228K (as of yesterday) and I'd say the E90 has had less problems than the E30 did. I think the fist-year E90 were well built. Search on 200,000 and you'll find the thread when I reported in at 200K. Lots of details in the thread if you are interested.

Up to 79K on mine. 8.5K since May 31st when I purchased it. I plan on it being at roughly 83-84K miles by the end of the year. When you live at the college you study at and home (which you rarely go back to anyways) is less than 30 miles away, your mileage seems to come in spurts. Like 2K from a show in St. Louis all in one weekend, going to Import Alliance in TN which will rack up 800+, and then all those crazy "Whose got some gas money, lets go to the beach for a day trip" 300 mile drives.
So far I havent even had to change the oil with it in my ownership yet. It's coming up in roughly 2500 miles, but yet to require it. Pretty pleased with the purchase from a reliability standpoint. It's the only car I have purchased that has had under $500 unexpected maintenece due in the first 3 months. Only maintenece that I have had occur that I did not expect was a windshield washer fluid motor that broke and cost roughly $350 parts and labor to fix. My only complaint so far about the car though is not really the car's fault though. The cost of tires for the e90's is crazy. I was used to putting cheaper, narrower tires on my past cars for $3-500 installed for 4 tires. I'm going to need tires soon and knew I wasn't going to put runflats back on, so I thought I could get away with a decent set of tires (sports package with staggered 17's) for $6-700 installed. Not even close. The cheaper summer tires at Discount were still at or over $1000 installed and a good set could run you $1500 deep. I guess when you go with a larger wheel like a 17 and 225/255 width, you gotta pay to play. I looked into upgrading to 19's because I like the way the style 95's look on the e90s, but the tires for those are a good bit more expensive than the 17's! It's fair to say that i'll be on my sports package staggered 17's for a little while longer... But in the end I can't complain too much if tires are the only downside I find with this car! Around 28,100 miles on my 2009 328i xDrive AT. I bought it with around 20k miles on it back in March.
It started life with me commuting about 32 miles a day during the week and has done at least a few 6-hour trips. There are at least 4 more long trips planned before the end of the year. Those long trips will put on about 700 miles each. My commute is much shorter now though since I got a new job. Only thing that's been wrong with it mechanically was a flat tire and bent wheel from when I hit a pothole on the interstate. That wasn't even the car's fault. It was just a shitty part of the interstate in Wisconsin (of which there are many). The dealership the car got towed to in Madison determined that I only needed to replace the tire that got busted and surprisingly told me that it did not need an alignment even after I told them to go ahead and do it if it was needed. I'm very appreciative of their honesty and quality service! I'm ditching the runflats early next year. Can't wait to do so. They're noisy, make the ride incredibly harsh, and they make it sound like my car will snap in half if I hit certain bumps or potholes. My car sees a lot of rough urban streets and it's awful. The suspension gets a workout every day. I bought a full-size spare from the classified section here and I keep it and a floor jack strapped down in the trunk and I've tossed the other tools needed to swap the tire out in the little compartment under the trunk floor.

Purchased at 31,000 km, now have 105,999 Km on my 323i 6MT...
maintenance: Do oil change with OEM every 10,000 kms Did brakes front and back Brake fluid change problems: windshield washer fluid pump went, replaced it myself, very easy Will have to do: Valve gasket (have parts) spark plugs (have parts) Probably water pump (I keep all the parts in my truck ready for anything) My first BMW and probably will not be my last. I dont like the F series BMWs (I hate the noise and shaking of the engine, and I have a feeling that the turbos are gonna be a problem/expensive issue) So i'll probably buy a 2012 E90/E92 or a 5 series with the inline 6. Anyhoo I'm happy with my 323i...now as far as my 335...thats another story... B ![]() |

74k on 08 328XI 6AT.
Just did transfer case, front/rear diff and trans filter pan drop. Plan on doing plugs and coils, belt and idler pully and coolant drain/fill next week. By end of Nov will do power steer fld filter and fluid drain/fill along with brake fluid drain/fill. My first BMW. I don't mind the maintenance as I can do most of it myself. I will be doing oil changes at 7k with M1 0-40 and Mann or KnN filter. I'm looking for another 6-7 years and taking it to 210-225k so mainteance is a must for me. |

73,XXX on my '06 330i
Oil change soon and wiper blades in next 2k, then I'll do plugs and purchase t-stat and water pump for preventative and keep them handy. Maybe some fluid flushing and coils? But only if needed. Car purrs like a kitten. And no interior rattles to boot! 2/05 build date-early! |
