I also have the galaxy S4, and nogo on the NFC working. My curiosity is that when this feature was designed, it was setup to work with the galaxy S3 NFC technology. The reason I say that is because the NFC technology change from the galaxy S3 to the S4 and they no longer read the same NFC as they use to, so if this radio was design with the S3 Near Field Communications technology, it will not work with the S4 : http://www.expertreviews.co.uk/smart...ile-2-incoming

The tv output i am not familiar with since I am not running it and have no plans to run it.

Do you have a link for the 1/4 jack and how can I run the USB in there? Isn't that just and input type thing that I plug a USB stick into?

Sorry for the delay in replying. I just got my Eonon today and was it supposed to come with an installation manual? I have a user manual and pamphlet showing Eonons factory. So now I have my BMW radio out and the mounting pracket and a bunch of Eonon wires that I don't know what to do with. Wasn't able to find any videos or anything online.

Also I'm not sure what stereo system I have. I've search a bunch of threads and none seem to have a definite answer. Or maybe my system is weird. I think I have a "hi fi" but don't know. I have a tweeter on each side next to the mirror. A mid size in the middle of each door (it's a coupe) another mid size in the rear on each side and a smaller one next to the mid size one. So that comes to a total of 8? I don't have one in the middle of my dash and I don't have an amp in the trunk unless it was taken out before? I don't know if I have speakers in the back of the car above the rear seats or if I have anything under the front seats.

Ok I plugged it in but I'm having trouble with the fit. Seems too big? Also I don't think I plugged something in right. When everything was plugged in and I turned on my car I heard a loud noise for split second from my left speaker and on the screen it says "Launch.exe". What are all those other cords for? the video inputs and audio etc? and the canbus? I don/t think I have logic 7 but a few of my cords don't seem to be used or fit with the one sent to me. I'll post pics of the stuff. My car is a 2008 BMW 335xi

I also contacted the eonon support several days ago but still no response.
Among other things, I noticed that the pictures on the front page does not correspond to the menu of my model. it seems there is the URC remote control that was not present in mine, and the menu are different.
I bought the radio on November 27, so I guess that after this date has been released an update which, however, can not be found.

In conclusion, if I may make a suggestion, try to understand how the technical support is, think well what functions are essential for you. I'm thinking of going back to the stock radio and as soon as possible to buy something that meets my needs and has a much better technical support.

Hi robyset & darkstorm, regarding the issues you mentioned,
firstly, for the firstly 2 issues, it's not the product defective, but i have checked with the tech whether it can be updated by the software or will be improved in the future. I will update you once there is answer.
Secondly, as we stated on the product description, some BMW models are not compatible with this function.But you can still get notice on your factory dash.
Thirdly, Eonon D5165 can work with galaxy S4, we have tested in our end. Firstly, you have to turn on the NFC function of your phone. Also, since the galaxy S4 is big, we found the built in NFC model of galaxy S4 is not so easy to locate. So you have to try more times to test. Thanks a lot.

Meanwhile, for the old version has no URC included. We only have the new version on Dec.9th. Thanks for your understanding

1. please kindly check whether there is cables, such as iPod cable at the back of the head unit is too long so that the head unit cannot be installed well?
2. for the connector, it seems you have the Logic7, since there is fiber optics cable from the picture you provided.

I must ask only because you took the OEM unit out, but assuming you have done head unit replacements before correct? I will tell you this is the most complex head unit replacement I have ever done, and most stereo shops will not work of E90’s b/c of the complexity. SO here is a suggestion,
I learned that there are 2 basic radios systems (really 3 or 4 different stereo systems) for E90 that you have to be concerned about , its either non-logic 7 or the logic 7. This is how you know which one you have:

Check in the trunk on driver side, and pry open the plastic lid, if you have an amp there, you have logic 7, if not, you are fortunate and can use this unit with no additional wiring

No I have never done any head unit replacements. But taking everything out wasn't much of a problem. I probably could put it all together fine as well. I've read a lot of threads about radio systems and checked in my trunk but this time when I checked I found the amp. Just mine looked a bit different than I expected. I thought it was just a black floor on my BMW but now I see wires coming out of it etc. So what's the point of the amp exactly? I couldn't even find any settings on the radio about it. I didn't think the sound system was any good before I knew it was a logic 7, now makes me feel sorry for the dudes who have the lowest type. Mine doesn't have the center speaker though and are the speakers under the seats visible? If I plug the pieces in together with logic 7 will it still work? When I did I heard a loud pop from my left speaker and I'm scared I'm going to blow my speakers or something and the fit is not good. Super tight up top. How'd you manage to get it in

What I don't get with this unit (and others like it) is why it's too long and sticks out at the bottom.

Why don't the manufactures fit a smaller screen so it actually fits properly? If they did, I would be very interested ...
