Cool. Can you check if you can find it? What did he charge you and how long did it take? And most importantly, did it make a difference?

Will do. Honestly i got it done when i first got the car along with the plugs, back then i was still getting use to it lol so i couldn't tell any difference but i'm pretty sure that the engine is happier with clean valves.

Incidentally: can anyone recommend a decent shop to test for AC leaks at?

Hi All:

Looking to get some feedback on Bilsteins B8s or B6s and get a review/perspective from local folks. I recently had purchased some Koni Yellows from a member on here but turned out I got screwed when I was told my Autovation that one of the rears were shot.

I can get Koni Yellows or B6 or B8, but after seeing failed Koni I am thinking more about Bilsteins, but just cant decided which one will be better for comfort and keep same perf as my OE M Sport suspension which using the OE springs.

Anyone out there who has Koni Yellows, B6, or B8's on their daily driver and give me their two cents on how they feel about them from both comfort and handling perspective? I am usually spend time driving in Montreal, Ottawa, and Toronto corridor and see everything from snow storms to ice rinks.

Thanks.

I had b8 for a short while with eibach pro in the front.. also supreme lowering perches. It was horrible! Maybe better without the perches or lowering springs?

I dunno. Maybe it was the E9x platform, or I don't know what, but my suspension experience with the E9x was absolutely awful.

First, I had H&R springs. It looked pretty for a few months until I shot my stock suspension and I'd bottom out on every joint on the highway (by far the worst was the 15 towards Nuns' Island, right before the speed radar in the left lane, there's a progressive set of 3 bumps, one worse than the next, and I'd bottom out there so hard I thought I'd break bones every time).

So I got a set of Bilsteins. Can't remember if they were B6 or B8, but the ride was harsh as hell as well. And I'm not one to complain normally, so I don't know what was the problem there.

Since then, I went full on coilover mode on other cars. The Mini had BC coilovers which went from stiff to rock-hard (so bad, that I switched them out this year for OEM JCW suspension, finally - looks like an SUV, but at least drives decently). And the R had KWv3s.................. and that's the BEST suspension I've *ever* driven on.

All this ramble to say that you should consider a set of v3s. They are expensive (esp. now with the dollar in the doldrums), but holy SHIT they are worth every penny. I'm looking for a set for my 911 now....... and they're like $4K or something.

I put KWv3 on my e92 XI. Back then they were the only thing that fit. Leaps and bounds over the stock setup. I was pretty happy although it didnt take much to bottom out due to the low stance.

Thanks guys. My issue with KONI got fixed so I have them on. Currently set to full soft and I can't tell a damn difference between stock sport suspension and the KONI yellows I put on.

I had some electric issues and was pretty much sidelined for the season - The curse of Watkins Glen. I spent all summer being a granddad and doing home renos. Looking at next year for getting back to hot-rodding. May have to get a new engine to replace the finicky S54 in the M3 or a new car altogether. Was looking at the Z06 initially, but is has been plagued with issues so I've started to look at the GT350R.

My wife tells me that I should take up skateboarding. Much cheaper.

I feel your pain!

Why not drop in an LS engine and you're golden, hopefully without having to sell an organ for it

Yah, quite disappointing that the Z06 has overheating issues. Get a new MX-5 and supercharge it....

The GT350R is sure to be a track monster, unique V8 scream, a pleasure to have even if you never take it to track

Hello everyone.

Scary question of the month during this Halloween week:

Which car would be LESS of a compromised ride between a convertible 911 or the M4 convertible?

In other words, which make would the convertible mantra fit better?

The LS option is still there. If I could only know it was a sure thing. Its hard to take the $20K plunge and not be 100% certain it will be 100% ...

Funny you should say that. I actually considered it to the point of checking out if Flyin Miata had anything out for the new MX5. Not yet.

Yup. Not too bad looking either. Still needs a 300Kg diet.

You cant beat the look of a sexy 911 which embodies the true spirit of convertible. The vert M4 would make a nice compromise and is the more practicle of the two. All the more reason to go with the 911.
