I'd like to know as well. I am thinking about going with 17x9 APEX ARC-8's ET30 and then run something similar over all just -1. Was thinking like 255/40/17 for a beefy sidewall.

Yeah set up is square. Driving around for about a month I have not noticed any rubbing yet. I assume that at full lock there may be some rubbing, but have not noticed it.

Would have been cool if it was yours! Can’t be too many of them around in that color and configuration. What made you jump from one to the other?

My knee still isn't 100% right a year and a half later, and the new owner seemed to be a pretty big BMW enthusiast so at least its in good hands now. |

I've been taking some pictures this week, since I had a little more time. I've visited Croation coast and this is what I've came up with:

Here's mine. 2010 E91 on stock sport package suspension. Thinking about lowering it a bit more, but love the smoothness of the stock sport suspension.

Love it! How hard was the roof wrap? Did you follow a certain diy?

Threw my Style 99s on the E91 and they suit it better than on my E36. Looking for 400Ms or potentially 270Ms though - just ran these because they were sitting in my basement and I felt like giving them a try.

It was involved. I didn't want to wrap around the roof rails, so I dropped the headliner and removed them completely along with the shark fin and rear spoiler. You'll also need a new panoramic roof seal because you can't tuck the vinyl under it. I took some pics along the way: I'm not a pro, but I've done several of these, so here are some tips: • Wash car, claybar roof, clean everything multiple times with isopropyl alcohol/water mix. Make sure to clean in channels and under any rubber seals you aren't removing. • Tape off anything (front seal, roofline, etc.) you don't want the vinyl to stick to with painters tape. This will make it easier to tuck the vinyl when it comes time. • If you're using knifeless tape, now's the time to put it around the perimeter of the roof. Put the knifless tape at least 3/4" below the rear of the roof so you don't see color below the spoiler. I did about 1/2" and it wasn't enough, needed to add a strip to hide the silver. • Lay the vinyl on the roof with backing paper facing down. Roll the paper from underneath with a helper, this reduces the chance of anything falling onto the adhesive. • It's ok if the vinyl is slightly bunched up and wrinkled at this point, you can stretch one corner at a time and tack it down on the windows/pillars. You want to stretch it so it's "glassed" it out and looks perfectly smooth all the way around before squeegee-ing anywhere. • Spray the TOP (not adhesive side) of the vinyl with soap/water solution to help the squeegee glide without scratching the vinyl. Squeegee from the center out and lift up vinyl in any areas where air is collecting. • Trim the sides, about 1/2" beyond the edge of the roof and lay them into the channel, rolling the vinyl over the edge without heat. • Leave the corners for last, don't squeegee them down yet. Lift each one up about 6" back, heat slightly, pre-stretch and let cool stretched out. Then squeegee them down and re-heat so the vinyl shrinks around the corner. • If you aren't removing the front windshield seal, leave an extra 1/4" of vinyl up front and tuck it under the seal. You'll have to remove the adhesive and grime from under this seal prior. • Once all edges are trimmed, post-heat with a heat gun to seal them. • Trim the sunroof opening, leave about 1-1.5" excess and heat the perimeter until it lays flat all the way around. Run the knife along the bottom edge of the opening so no body color is visible. You don't have to tuck it underneath the vertical edge. Install the new sunroof seal over top of the vinyl. •*Cut out the shark fin opening and re-install fin with 3M tape. Make sure you seal the entire perimeter of the fin so water doesn't get in. I typed this out on a whim so I may have missed some things, but let me know if you have any questions. |

Presume you dropped the roof lining to remove the roof rails? Any tips or cheats on this? |
