Unless you live in a house for 30 years.. you'll never own it either

With bills and maintenance and crap.. I probably spend double that on my house! It's outrageous! Maybe I just need a smaller house... but honestly.. I can't be bothered anymore. It's nice to own something, but it's even nicer to be able to walk away by just giving someone 30 days notice!

If I wanted to move next month I couldn't. I have to plan a move months in advance.. and since I'm so busy I haven't had the time to do it!

I guess it's kinda like lease vs. finance :P I bought my house early before prices started going up so when they came down I was not affected... but some people are way in the hole on their houses! Only problem is.. when you are upside down in a house.. you can't just walk away.

jeff i feel your pain about owning a house. at least my nanny does the cleaning and she is never in my way. she practically has an apartment downstairs in the basement that i had converted for her. she has a full bathroom, living room, bedroom and tons of closet space. ide say its about 700 square feet.

what up lana....im still at my parents house for dinner. the jewish parental units want to pack up enough food for me for the next week. Im probably gonna leave in like an hour. oh boy that seems like an eternity. LOL

yeah but if you build equity into a house when you sell, youll be able to make a profit

Most houses these days are being sold at a loss! Remember 6% of the sale of the house goes towards Realtor fees.. the rest goes towards your mortgage principal and you get whatever is left! Considering the market is down ~10% when you add on the other 6% unless your house can sell for ~14% above what you paid for it you will break even or possibly be at a loss. I'm of course using Voodoo math.. but you get the point!

the market will eventually turn around. Im mean i have about 160K left on my mortgage and i was thinking of selling it. Its funny the houses that used to be about 900K in my area are now selling for about 700K and the houses that were 500K are now selling between 400K and 450K so the smaller houses didnt take that much of a hit. I bought my house back in 2004 for 412K and if I can sell it for $450K, and pay off my mortgage and pay 3% to the realtor I can still pick up a house that is 700K and be paying the same mortgage.

900K is for a small ass house in staten island. for 900K your getting a 5-6 bedroom 3 bathroom house with a huge kitchen, seperate dining room, two family rooms and a property about 80X130. with a water view. For 700K you wont get the water view My house is 3 bedrooms 2 full bathrooms, apartment downstairs, kitchen, dining room, and living room and its 60X100.
