Anyone have the latest Daten / SGDAT and EDIABAS ECU files? Would greatly appreciate it!
Also, anyone know where I can get an adapter to work on new cars, instead of desoldering Pin 8? |

I have v40 Daten files and EDIABAS 7.2 files. I've had problems using these newer files though...I'm currently using EDIABAS 6.4.7, V39 Daten Files, and NCSexpert 3.10 and I'm coding 2010 and 2011 e90's without any problems. Not sure about where to get an adapter, I took mine apart and desoldered the pins. I saw on another forum where someone soldered in a switch...

I have V41 daten. For the cable search eBay for BMW EDIABAS and get the cable from seller automotive scan (or maybe automotive scan tool, can't check right now).

When I tried coding my CIC, I was also getting the SYS-0005 error code...I was missing 3 files...after I found those files and put them where they needed to be...everything worked like a charm. So you might look at that possibility...

Just want to update that I was able to code all the errors out of my DEPO v2s from Fishcake! I disabled all the bulb tests in FRM that had to do with Angel Eyes, Low Beams, or Turn Signals and that did the trick!!
Could not be any happier! |

Got my cable in the mail today. Installed all the software on a Windows XP SP3 virtual machine running under VMWare Fusion on a 2011 MacBook Pro. Updated to the E89 v.41 daten files and successfully coded the BC_DIGITAL_V in the KOMBI module on my 2011 E90 335i.
Now I need to research what else I want to play with and have fun! Willing to help others in the DFW area too.

No; use a VM through VMware or Windows Virtual PC; the latter is free if you have Win7 Pro, Enterprise, or Ultimate. Then set up USB device redirection and follow the DIY within the VM.

I tried coding my LCI tails on 2008 E90 and wasn't successful. I'm using NCSEXPER going into the FRM module initially and then choosing the NFRM ECU...when I hit read ECU the .TRC file is about 35kb which doesn't contain any of the LED tail light retrofit commands shown in the spreadsheet that I could use on a .MAN file...the 229KB .TRC file which I get when the first FRM is read however does contain the commands..
Can anyone describe the "exact" procedure on how to code the pre-LCI car with LCI tails for an E90 please? I'm using the latest bmw standard tools with v42 daten files which I got yesterday thanks to everyone on the ************** forum... |

when you guys code the NFRM module, how do you get to it and how large of a .TRC file do you get to edit and make into a .MAN file? |

I get it through the CAS master ECU and I think it's about 37KB. FYI though you have to use the original EDIABAS\ECU folder; using the one from newer daten packages or even importing them into the existing folder landed me an EDIABAS version error trying to read NFRM -- but using the old ECU folder prevents me from reading CIC, so I keep both.

In the EDIABAS folder I have the original folder named ECU-orig and the V42 version named ECU-new. Then I rename whichever one I need to use to "ECU" and off I go. If you need to switch mid-coding though, make sure you close NCS and then right-click EDIABAS Server and close that app too (it doesn't close automatically when NCS does.)
