Hi folks - new forum member, back into BMW cars after a bit of a break playing with their motorcycles. Bought myself a 2007 e93 320i which is proving to be a bit of a money pit (always seem to buy other people's problems when I get a 2nd hand car) but on the bright side it's getting me interested in problem solving and tinkering myself again. So I guess I'll be browsing the 'how to' threads and posting up a few questions along the way.

N53 Engine Issues

Hi There,

I've joined the forum to get some opinions on a new purchase. There are tow issues, one seems trivial and the other not so.

Firstly, when started up from cold as the revs gradually slow down to normal tick-over speed, once they reach 600 rpm, the revs become erratic and fluctuate between below 500 - 700 rpm for a minute or so before settling down.

Secondly, after a recent long drive, the car began to lose power each time the car decelerated approaching junctions etc. I pulled over and after a few minutes all seemed ok.

I suspect both could be related, possibly injectors or HPFP, but wanted to know if anyone has other theories?

New E90 owner

Hi guys. Just bought 2011 325d Msport.
Got a few niggles, but need an answer to this.
Are the front hub knuckles on 2011 325d msport the same as 2006 e90 320d msport? Or are they different?
Also, if i bought subframe with all the bits off a 320d msport, would that fit my 2011 325d msport?
Help needed.

I have no idea, but you could check the part numbers and diagrams on https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/select and compare one model to the other.

New member saying hello

Just saying hello, new member from Wiltshire e92 325i. My last car was an LCI E60 535d m sport that I had for 6 years, I hope my new car is as reliable and covers the same miles (90k) as faultlessly.

Hello. I've just become the proud owner of a 2010 BMW E92 335i 6MT!

It's my second car and a massive upgrade from my 2006 Ford Fiesta ST150.

The engine under load produces one of the most intoxicating noises I've had the pleasure of hearing from inside a car - and it's entirely stock!

I plan on souping up this puppy to mid 400 whp if nothing stops me .

Hi all, not long had my E90 M3 after several years with a fantastic E90 330i. Tried an F20 M135i but found it boring so back to the naturally aspirated / hydraulic steering combo for me in the M3

Hello all,

Recently bought a 2007 e92 335i already experiencing issues with seize wheel bolts and already shredded two locking wheel nuts was the last bolt that needed cracking as well the new coil overs will have to wait.

Will be looking to map to stage two and will be after some guidance specifically with exhaust set ups.

Hi

Hi. Just brought a 2010 325i SE Cabriolet. Having come over to the Dark Side from Volvo / Saabs I am pretty happy with the car - it drives well and is comfortable. Couple of questions though:?

The Owner's Handbook. Is there any reason why this should be rarer than a Gutenberg Bible ? I can find something CLOSE on-line but a

CIC. All the "stuff" I find on t' Internet tells me I can do a firmware upgrade from a USB drive using the "Software Update" menu option. Which I am damned if I can find. Any suggestions ?

Maps: Having driven across apparent open country on the way to Peterborough the other day I suspect that 2010 maps may be a bit past their sell-by date. How modern can I get ? Current mapset is Premium European.

Any 325 guru in North Herts / Cambs fancy a chat over a pint and a pie ?

I may post these questions in the appropriate sub-forum but I'll leave them here for now. Nice to be here.

Hello

Hey all,

As a lifelong E92 fan, this is the first time I am actually posting on here, so hello all.

I wanted to ask the community if at all would it be possible to fit an E92 335d engine into an E92 320d?

Just curious

Hey guys

A recent owner of an E90 330i with the glorious N52B30A engine, I am really keen on getting to know how to use ISTA (Not sure about ISTA-D/P and which version to use for each) and how to maintain the car to keep it in tip top condition.

I am going to tackle my first oil filter housing/cooler gasket in a few days once I get all the necessary bits, but I do want to try my best to avoid any mess. I was wondering if anyone had any advice for me? Also the best place to get good value OEM parts for our cars would be good to know as well.

It would also be cool to know which fluids everyone likes to use for their cars as well? My engine has about 73000 miles on the clock and is running quite well, but I've noticed some oil seeping around the oil cooler/filter housing mating surface so I'm guessing both those gaskets are gonna need replacement.

My only worry is that from all the YT vids I've watched, there is a tonne of mess involved and a lot of fluids that release from the removal of the cooler/OFH. I keep going online to add simple things to my basket like nitrile gloves, 5W30, coolant, if you remove the housing you need to either remove/replace the serpentine belt, it all gets a bit overwhelming and the cost is starting to add up but I want to get better and more confident so some of these things I'll be keeping for a while I know. Its just the initial expenditure that is a bit scary. It would be cool if anyone had some advice to keep initial costs low so that I'm not going around buying everything at once.

Looking forward to my BMW journey with you all.

Hello!

Picked up a 2007 E93 330i yesterday. Used to have a 325i cab E30, but had to sell it due to expansion next year of the London ULEZ.

I love it!!
