Oh yes essential equipment and not too expensive. Low profile jack is a must. Can be purchased at Aldi (when they come on sale) or out if the back of a van in an industrial car park like I did. Best $150 ever spent

Mod 91 - KW3 coilovers
Time to retire the H&R sports springs and koni yellows (it has been fun). They are going to a good home and will live on providing awesome stancey goodness on another 335i ![]() But as one chapter in the build closes, another opens with a new set of KW3 coilovers ![]() Big thanks to Vince for fitting and dialing in the settings, then off for a quick test drive... ![]() So how are they.. one word bloody awesome, well that's two words but sums them up nicely. They soaks up the bumps nicely and handling is much improved. So much so that now its the tires that need upgrading to keep up with the suspension performance.. All in all very nice and best of all, can adjust the cars ride height and can clear speed-humps and driveways without scraping Will give it a week or so to settle down before locking in the ride height and settings Pics and test drive vid below Pic 1 - Coilover install under way starting with the fronts Pic 2 - Fresh new KW3s still in the packaging Pics 3 & 4 - Preparing the fronts Pics 5, 6, 7 & 8 - Front install Last edited by Socket; 10-15-2017 at 03:09 AM.. |

Imo the HR springs have no business being on a performance vehicle. The HR springs bascially have the same spring rates as stock yet slam the car. You go over any bump and you bottom out or scrape. Quite boaty and soft and not particularly comfortable cos its quite bouncy.
The KWs are stiffer but are much better since they control the body properly over the bumps and don't bottom out all the time. The spring rates are still quite comfortable at 35N/mm front / 79N/mm rear (confirmed via email from KW engineer). More comfortable and much better handling. They are still not stiff enough for very aggressive driving (you can fit stiffer springs if you want) but is a great setup overall
