About coding this
If you know which module and which parameter needs changing then they might be able to be coded by adding a new value to the parameter in NCS dummy. What I'm suggesting do the same thing as we do when coding video in motion in the CIC Have you tried this ? There's also nettodat coding directly but it's even more involved and I've never managed to succeed with it

I have tried all. Especially in LDM and ACC modules with many custom value by nettodat coding. None of them works. That's why I am hacking the source code on PT-Can now. Earlier testing results were the outcome.

Well that was worded poorly i apologize, what i meant was is there a away to switch between regular cruise control and ACC by the push of a button like on the newer cars

Bumper trim for ACC needs cut-off
I was able to confirm the ACC function by a retrofit finally. However I realized that a new bumper trim for ACC(51117154550) does not fit with just replace. Does the bumper need cut-off along the trim?
I wonder if someone has the same issue, or this is the common understanding already? My E90 is made 2005, probably LCI or Msp may not have this issue.. Do I really need to cut-off the bumper for the trim install? <Updated> This is a quite late update. But I need to do because some of people question about this consequences. For the non-Msp bumper, you need to cut-off along mold lines on the non-painted side. Maybe the lines are ones created in the factory by the mold plate that will decide whether acc is installed or not. Last edited by sono0312; 12-16-2021 at 12:54 PM.. Update :
After cracking so many BMW secret codes. Finally.... ACC in my 4-cyl 320i E92 Few more codes to crack for Stop&Go.. hopeful not a deadend. |

For those who are interested to know how I did it, I have reconstruct the PT-Can layout to below and reprogram the CAN Bus Bridge to replace most of the LDM functions and commands.

Not ONLY transform the signal to dsc but also to dme, egs, kombi, acc ... almost all modules on PT-Can.
How I crack the data ? 3 steps repeatedly .... test drive, sniff data, compare data... test drive, sniff data, compare data... ... to know their behavior/pattern of communication on PT-Can. And I think it is depends on case to case. Bcos my retrofit results is very much depends on type of DME used in the car. Every DME/DDE speaks/response to the codes differently. |

Some great work being done in this thread. I have a 6-cylinder car so the work to get ACC operational on a 4-cylinder is not relevant to me, but I found it a fascinating read nonetheless.
It shows that if you have the skills to tap into the car's communications networks the possibilities available are huge. |

No secret. Basically is to rebuild your own LDM module to replace most of the commands in stock LDM using Macchina M2 CANBus bridge thus to achieve Stop&Go function. But important things to consider :
1) Due to it is not OEM retrofit anymore, legal, road safety and vehicle insurance coverage may be void. These have to be considered depends which country you are in 2) Retrofit work will varies from car to car due to each DME/DDE speaks slightly different 3) You need to know exactly what your car is doing on PT-CAN level in order to program the CANBus bridge correctly - CAN id communication 4) Time and work to put in will be huge due to it is not ordinary retrofit 5) Will require basic skill in CANBus Reverse Engineering and C++ programming I am sharing and guiding few mates who are interested now with info thru my personal email the step by step how I did it. It will take time to complete the full course to achieve this extraordinary result. But I am sure that it will be easier to introduce in 6-cyl BMW compared to 4-cyl BMW due to constraints and complexity. |
