BMW have twice told me my turbos neede replacing during my five and a half years of ownership, once at 60k & again at 80k,both times the issues were nothing to do with the turbos.

Yeah mine does that, most of them do. I take it yours were replaced under warranty?

No at the moment and at 86k everything is running good. I need a set of plugs soon. The M3 is tucked up in the garage. It will be getting its fluid and filters changed before it comes out for the summer. I nearly bought a 3.8 M5 and due to being indecisive I missed. Did the same on a B10 BiTurbo and I now regret not buying them when I had the chance. Now both are too expensive. Luckily I did by the M3 12 years ago🙂

£250 excess for brand new turbos and new wing mirror motors courtesy of BMW Warranty.
It's going back in Tuesday as it looks like the heatshield is rattling and they will be looking at the HVAC as well as it is whistling sometimes. Certainly getting my moneys worth from the warranty. Also spent around £320 for Super sports and tracking, huge difference to traction. |

I've been getting intermittent EML since weekend before last, I suspected the low pressure fuel sensor as it through a 29f3 a couple of times about six months ago. Had it into a garage where the company I work for gets all their vehicles serviced and repaired today to run a diagnostic and got a 30ff and 29f3 when I went to pick it up expecting to have to book it in to get it fixed turns out they found two split vacuum pipes to the turbos, they replaced them both and only charged me £75, am very happy with that . Gave the car a bit of run on the way home and all seems good, if anything the car feels a bit quicker than it has of late

£30 on an MOT today. Aside from day to day running costs, hopefully that's it for May.

£40 for the steering rack? I've been quoted well north of £1k as mine has play in it. How did you get one so cheap, was it a part from a scrapped car?
