Mod 21 - New rims and rubber
Sad to see the 230s go but thanks to Jason at EuroDivision, now sporting a new set of AFF01 rims, wrapped in new yokohama advans, 235/35/19 up front and 265/30/19 in the rear. The rims are simply awesome ![]() Lighter rims, wider rubber and no more run flats ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by Socket; 08-08-2015 at 10:40 AM.. |

Man.. Just read this entire thread and absolutely love everything you've done. You're a machine with the frequency of your modding! Every update got better and better with a skeet skeet skeet climax of RBs and some really dyno wheels!!
Bravo, man. Makes me wish I had held out for space gray. I'm thinking of doing the plasti dip mod on my m3 front. Can you share where you learned to do it? Is there a DIY? Any closeups of yours? Anyways... Love the ride man. Rock on! |

Ps... A set of shadow line trim on the windows would really look nice. Though, yours looks pretty good with the chrome and those wheels.

YESS!!! about time man
![]() ![]() I'm really digging those wheels, I think I've seen a set of those last time I was at BMR, what are the wheel specs? If the tyres are brand spanking new, drive it around for about half a tank before you start giving it the beans, let the tyres settle in |

![]() Next mod will definitely involve sorting out the silver trim lol Went the plastidip route because could not find splitters for the M3 rep lip ![]() The plastidip mod is pretty simple, the hardest part was masking up the front lip around the vents to get nice curved lines. Used about half a can of black matt plastidip ($25 a can). Apply like spray paint but you have to apply really really light layers otherwise you wont get a smooth surface, wait 10 mins between layers and after 5 or 6 it should be done. The next bit is to removing the masking tape, you will need to cut plastidip along the line of the masking tape, otherwise it will rip the plastidip and you wont get a smooth edge. I used a sharp kitchen knife, but a razor or something would be better, taking care not to damage the paint by cutting into it. Took two goes before I got the finish I wanted, but it has been on for a few months now and looks as good as the day it was applied ![]() GL Stashy... post some pics when ur done |

Wheel specs are 19s x 8.5 front and 19s x 9.5 rear, I think the offsets are 25 but TBH I can't remember. No rubbing, even on full lock. Front sits perfectly flush with front fender line. I might be able to bring the rears out a bit more. Ill fit some 10mm spacers tomorrow and see if I can get away without it rubbing. ![]() |

Don't forget to break in the tyres, so drive moderately for a little bit and then the yokos will work to their full potential |

Thank you so much for the advice and closeups, sir!
I dipped my window trim several times and grills before finally coughing up for a shadow line trim set ($500+ yikes!) as the dip was never perfect and I am a neat freak.. Couldn't stand the imperfections. You did a great job laying that down on the bumper. Last question... did you spray under on the bottom of the bumper? It appears that way. Looking on my phone so tough to see. Going to give it a shot today! Hopefully mine will turn out as good as yours and I will be stoked. The V style lip was something I was going to buy but I think it is way too big and flashy for my tastes. Splitters much more understated and low key. Anyways sorry for the thread jack. Cheers and congrats again on the evolution of your whip. !! |

With the plastidip, you remove the masking tape on the last layer.
Spray the last layer so that the entire edge is wet, then peel the tape away from the painted edge and it will remove clean while still wet. There are some videos on youtube how to remove masking lines on plastidip. |
