Marina leaving is bad news. I hope whoever comes in can find a good replacement. But my bigger concern is Chelsea becomes like Man U or Arsenal where the club is run for a better bottom line than winning.

Also rumor is the players out of contract this summer will be put on hold for the new owner. Some good defensive players out of contract this summer.

yeah, potential suitors are looking at it like a business, there are many players contracts who are up and there is also the issue of signing new players like Kounde, could be a dark few years. I also wonder if this is just a ploy by him to buy some time with his due process, hoping things blow over and he can come back to the club and keep his ownership in tact.

I doubt it's a ploy because he wouldn't list the team for sale I don't think. He simply would have stuck with the part about transferring control of the team to the "trustees". You hear the other stories like his mega yacht suddenly taking off to The Maldives where they don't have an extradition treaty in place with the US. I think several oligarchs are doing the same thing. I think he wants to cash out as soon as he can rather than risk losing it all.

There’s still hope, Liverpool owners were able to turn the fortunes around once they figured out being successful is about having a system in place for the whole club.

Honestly i'm sure the FA will have this sorted out as they don't want this to damage a club like Chelsea. Just sort of in the thick of it now with all the uncertainty.

Now that Abramovich is officially sanctioned in the UK, this has become a real shit storm. The club can't even sell tickets or merchandise now! Sigh.

What a mess.

Game in 2 hours and supposedly they cannot have their shirt sponsor shown as they've suspended their affiliation. Gonna be interesting but my spidey sense thinks this will be a temporary glitch and by the time next season starts, a distant memory.

Man I hope you're right. I had no idea it would come to this. A sad state of affairs but I understand the driving force behind it all. Just terrible for the team though. Can't imagine what the players and coaches must be thinking right now. How can they maintain focus on the pitch?

what a first touch! this guy has really stepped it up! Another rumour I heard is Nick Candy buying Chelsea, I wonder what that looks like, he even offered to support financially in the interim until the sale goes through.

Indeed. In the meantime you've got the worthless Timo Werner who is the opposite and doesn't have any touch.

As for Nick Candy, that works for me even though I had never heard of the guy prior to this offer. Seems to me a Brit having ownership of the team might be safest. I like that he's offering to support during the interim.

I agree with a brit owning the team would be most ideal, hopefully this gets sorted out soon, I can only imagine playing under these circumstances!

Yes. if you know anything about soccer/football you will know that Guardiola and Klopp both had to significantly revamp their teams to suit their playing style. ETH will be no different. In fact Pep had to chop and change his own teams as he realized some of his purchases were not up to par. This is how you build a great team.
