Good research. The OEM BMW navigation really sucks, and better to just forget it. At least the 2014 NBT_HU with 609 professional nav and 2022 maps.

For deciding on Android HU or MMI, the prices depend on where you are in the world and also how much time you are willing to "bottom feed" EBay. I have a 2012 F30 with 6.5", no-nav, CIC-High, 6-pin LVDS.

First I bought an Android 10 HU but the reflection was so bad I decided I want an OEM screen. Maybe there are much better quality Android HU screens on the market now. One potential way to remedy the mirror-like reflection of the Chinese Android Head Units is to angle them slightly so that its perpendicular to the inside roof. That way the reflection from (at least) the rear window is eliminated. The slight angle is not noticable nor does look weird. This is the easiest way to get large screen without any OEM parts replaced.

What I ended up doing is: bought NBT_HU (not necessary) for $100 shipped, OEM F15 screen 10.25" for $215 shipped, and a used MMI for $110 shipped, emulator for $70, touch ECU for $30, and 7-button icontroller for $65, misc cables for $40...all on Ebay. There is a separate thread on F15 OEM 10.25" screen retrofit for F30s. The CIC to NBT retrofit along with icontroller (OEM touch is useless) does require a lot of coding and wiring research. All the information is out there is various threads, but not all in one place. It may also affect taking your car to the dealer, as not all changes can be hidden or worth hiding/unhiding.

The audio and bluetooth are very variable in difficulty case by case, but both MMI and Android HU are a pain to setup right. I am still trying to figure how to setup mine to function properly.

I have too this Android 11 Radio (10,25") 8/256GB, 662 Chip.
I have the Ota Firmware 1.8.6 my seller say to me that it is the Last stable Version.

Now i have 3 problems..

first is with Alexa App then it don´t work right.
I have activated Hands-Free but when i say "Alexa" the App don´t hear me, when i push the Alexa Icon, then it works.

Second: Amazon Music APP, here i can´t Activate Hands-free, then the Picture to accept is too big.

Third: every time i go in my car and the Radio start i have this settings: Battery - Battery Manager - Restricted Apps - all hooks are set, although I had previously unchecked 4 apps,

With my old Radio 4/64GB Android 10, it works Perfectly.

Can someone give me a tip on how to solve these 3 problems?

I purchased my 10.25 HU, which is stated A11. However, the UI is different from what i see in this forum. I used the CPU-Z to confirm the processor and screen and it is indeed QC/HD.

Questions -
1- Is it because different seller has different UI?
2- I cannot default my music player to the one i downloaded. It always used back the original. How to resolve this issue?

Can someone be kind enough to advise. Thanks.

It's different because that is a completely different unit. Your CPU-Z screenshots don't show API level, look it up and tell me what it is.

As I thought, this unit is a fake - this is Android 9. Sorry I can't help you with your issues as I'm completely unfamiliar with this model.

As I said - it's Android 9. It shows Android 11, it was advertised and sold as Android 11, but it's actually Android 9. That's why I say it's fake. The hardware is what it is but software is not what it claims to be. API 28 is Android 9.

It is regarding the AA software you linked to earlier in this thread. Ive recently ditched the MMI box I was running to improve my NBT 4 pro nav (2013 car) as, like you have said, it was a buggy piece of shit.
Ive now got a nbt evo 5 (running 6) to go in. I did have the TCB that matched the evo unit but didnt go that route in the end. I am therefore running with the cars original combox (2G, largely useless) now. The EVO unit was retrofitted with the blue GPS port. What I was wondering is, can I still use that software as im an android guy or is it not for me as my connected drive is redundat now?

Thanks for your clarification. At least the hardware is correct and not cheapskate chip used. I doubt i would be able to see the different of A9 vs A11 (Thinking positive) since i dont open more than 10apps at one go.
Too bad i cannot default my music player to others as the existing one is crappy design.

Yes, you should be using AAIdrive app if you don't have ATM/TCB. When my car was made the ConnectedDrive services weren't even an option so I couldn't simply get matching ATM and do a SIM swap (maybe there is a way but it far from plug&play - I would have to host a server to emulate CD just for myself &#129315.

You can now get the AAIdrive app from Play Store. The Git page is still available as it is an open source project, but for ease of use the developer behind it released in on Play Store as well. Here is the link https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...roidautoidrive

To make it work, you would need MyBMW app (don't worry if it's not talking to CD servers - it's just the protocol of that app that is needed for AAIdrive) and the AAIdrive app itself. Then you need to set up AAIdrive to have permissions to access your contacts, music apps, calendar, location, notifications etc. etc. and you need to pair your phone (with the app running) with your car and tick BMW Apps option in the iDrive menu. I presume you do have fully enabled unit i.e. loaded with all possible FSCs to enable BMW Apps, Maps, Voice Commands etc.

Have a loot at the theming thread, there is a link to ID7 Launcher app that is far better than the stock launcher and allows for full customisation - you should be able to install it on your unit. Some functionality will be unavailable as it was developed with KSW units in mind, but even then it's superior to the stock shite.

I'm not familiar with these. I retrofitted Harman Kardon system along with EVO so it's all OEM.

There is a post in this same section about upgrading base sterio. The lad in there went with it on stock speakers and was a fan. The HK route is pricey isnt it? Involved too as the system parts are everywhere. I dunno, still havnt made a decision but I do enjoy my music so would like some quality in there, not loudness, just quality.

Yeah, it can be anything from £600 to £1000 for HK system, plus you will need to run MOST line from your HU to the amp in the boot and probably rewire / add wiring to some speakers.

Nope, normally we first get the updates from someone of the community (like you ), and then i do the chancelogs of the A10 update.

Unfortunately A11 Updated are partially encrypted probably because of us doing the changelogs and reverse engineering , so we are not able to do the changelog only by only the file anymore

Until know there was always a A10 and A11 update at pretty the same time, as they have the same root from the same developer the changelogs always did pretty fit for both.

To do seperate A11 update changelogs i would need an A11 headunit to pull the specific apk files from the system every time, as it will be decrypted when the update will be installed.
But i don't spend that much money for only doing changelogs

But sharing your file would help anyways as we have some people at discord who can try them out
