Been RFT since 11/12. I’m almost sure that my car is going to be on the grand champion but not seeing the tracker update is making me insane. I’ll email the genius on Monday when they start working and hopefully they’ll tell be that my car got on the ship.

RFT since 11/16. Same message from BMW Genius. "In Transit" and not received at port yet (after three weeks of RFT). And they have no idea when it will get to the port of departure. Told me to check back in two weeks.

Same, RFT since 11/16. It looks like we missed the last boat. The future schedule for next boat in west coast seems like 12/28 by Orion Leader. Maybe, we will start to see new changes in tracker about a week before 12/28

there are def several ships at both ports so i hope some of you west coast homies get your rides ASAP as well

Grand Champion should be moving out today i would think. if it does move out today it could arrive a day or 2 earlier which would be dope! as long as it doesnt have a stop before brunswick

Assuming BMW uses this one for west coast, wonder if anyone's made it on Metis Leader which left the port this morning and should arrive at Port Hueneme on ~12/15. Otherwise, yeah, looks like Orion Leader next.

Why does BMW use ships and not rail for US/CA deliveries? My MachE came all the way to the US on rail from Ford's Mexico City factory, and it only took about 10 days to get to the US.

I'm not a logistics guy, but slapping these bad boys on a railcar seems a lot more efficient than a boat.

Do they only use ships for the coasts? Is it possible that Middle America deliveries are rail only?

FWIW, I've been RFT since 11/25. I'd buy a ticket down to Mexico and drive it back Mad Max-style if they let me.

ugh its still just SITTING THERE!!!! i was hoping to see a destination port listed on it but nothing yet lots of activity down there right now but we are still just chillin sadly on the grand champion..

Pure speculation here but City of Oslo vehicle carrier is now headed directly to NY and is set to get there on the 19th. Also Genius last week said I will make it to port by the 19th. Grand Champion is still sitting there and I am or was on that ship. Is it possible that the cars headed for NY area moved to that ship in order to make it by end of year? This may be why it is staying moored so long? Probably wishful thinking however I will call Genius tomorrow and see if I am still on Grand Champion or moved to City of Oslo. Maybe we all get in sooner now?

All deliveries from Mexico to Toronto, Canada are by rail

sadly no update on the grand champion.. still cant believe this damn ship went to tampa and back to mx.

its supposed to be in Baltimore on the 16th.

the City of Oslo going to NY with bmw's makes a lot of sense to make end of year deliveries

it would depend on your port but i believe you could make end of year. it seems like EVERYONE is trying to get as man cars from mexico up north asap. If you look on marinetraffic.com or vesselfinder.com and look at the ports you can see quite a bit of car carriers waiting, at port or have left with in the past 24 hours.

My dealer said my car should be there by the last week of December. So fingers crossed I’m on city of Oslo, I live in Boston so I think that’s the ship for me. Thanks for the info

I sent an email to BMW genius asking if cars are being moved from Grand Champion to City of Oslo vessels and when they actually think either of these ships might actually head out and start dropping off cars.

Hoping based on the schedules we were given that both of these ships leave today, this is starting to feel like RFT all over again!

Well my current daily (2016 C450 with only 80k miles) blew its engine up halfway into a 4 hour drive on Friday, so this car really can’t come soon enough for me. I’m on the grand champion like most of us. Considering that it broke down on a blind corner with a guard rail and basically no shoulder, I feel extremely grateful to be alive right now. CT emergency services were extremely incompetent and we waited almost 2 hours for help to arrive and saw 4 state troopers pass us and do nothing. I’ll probably take delivery and wait a few weeks to gather my courage before hitting the road again.

The tugs are heading down hopefully to get Grand Champion under way!!

This is supporting the idea that Oslo and Grand Champion were moving cars between them and are now heading out.
