Robert@vishnu is in Taiwan this (and next week) for a family emergency. Can Calvin@vishnu is 400 miles away. Which leaves little old me to do everything shipping/ordering related. I intend to use this weekend to catch up with orders

I hope to start shipping units out on Monday as planned. Just need to make sure the activation system works properly. Hope to have it worked out this weekend. If not Monday, I'm thinking Tues or Wed. But the units are here and ready to go.

We already use steering wheel buttons for shift light/alert adjustments. As well as traction/launch control manual overrides. We should have the command center working with steering wheel buttons soon (for those without cruise control). But first we need to get v5 activations sorted out. That's next in the cue.

We ship to Canada all the time. No issues. But I suspect it will be less expensive for you if we shipped within the US. No duties.

Not stupid at all Procede does not come with a usb/serial cable. You'll need to get one if you want to hook up to a computer to make changes. But that's completely unnecessary due to autotuning. If you do need one, just get a simple db9(serial) to USB cable for Radio Shack or order one online. Should only cost $20-35. Just make sure it is compatible with your operating system. Some of the older cables are flaky with windows 7.

Tomato Toe-mah-toe. It still has given my friends cars an extra 70-80 hp/tq for the past couple years with out any issues. To each their own.

Cringe. If only pistons could talk. They would agree with basic tuning fundamentals.

Dumbest comment I've read in a while. Tuning 101 my friend.

Is the return policy still 15-day full refund? I'm interested in trying it to see how much improvement I get over JB3, and if it's worth it.

If im only running map 3 with DCI and map 5 when i add some 100 oct. Doesn't the ECU accomodate for the timing itself to a certain degree?

Baring any dramatic changes to IAT, The DME will always target the same ignition advance setpoint curve. At WOt, this is ~10deg BTDC through the midrange, ramping up to 13-14deg BTDC by 7000rpm. In most cases, this advance curve is not reliably achievable on pump gas when running over 13psi of boost. And when conditions get bad (higher IATs), this advance setpoint is too aggressive for even 11-12psi of boost.

So without the ability to change ignition advance setpoint, an engine WILL find itself overadvanced (experiencing knock) in these conditions. The DME's knock control system will intervene and yank out 3-6 deg of timing after knock is detected. But that's reactive, not proactive. There are also knock/octane adaptations but that largely dictates the rate of retard and positive decay post knock event.

There really is no support to the argument that ignition timing adjustments aren't needed in associated with higher boost levels. Those who claim that due so because they don't have the ability to make thees changes with their hardware platform. Either that or they just don't have the knowledge to unerstand this basic tuning fundamental.

Even BMW remapped the ignition advance setpoint curve with their Power Kit (2-3 deg less advance through the midrange). And that was only with a modest boost increase.

Adding in race gas makes this all a moot point of course. It hides a lot of tune shortcomings by making knock far less likely.

Peak power should be secondary (or even third) when the vast majority of driving is not at WOT. Power delivery at partial throttle should be paramount in the choice of which there is no comparison between the two. Just a thought you and your friends should have considered. Otherwise, nitrous is also great at making power at WOT.

NuM nuMs I would seriously consider comparing the two tunes. They both have $ back guarantees. Try them both out and see which one you prefer. Then you will be informed and secure in your decision. Install is not that big a deal once you have done it a few times; the practice is good experience.

Correct. You can add more optional maps (nitrous, meth, 2nd autotuning, NA) as time goes by.

Beware. Don't buy any package deal from BMS if you plan on taking advantage of that 15-day return policy. The only thing returnable is the actual tune, none of the other crap is returnable and will be deducted from any refund you intend on receiving!!

He already has the JB, so no more harm could be done there. And the procede test & return policy is hassle-free.
