Wow those electric bov on the turbo is a piece of sh*t, the Mini, Audi and Vw use then and they don't hold that much boost and use to break a lot.
AWD for when are you planning on upgrading the wastegate system?

Just letting every know that I'll be one of the testers for the AWD turbo upgrade. I'll be doing before and after dyno's probably on a dyno dynamics dyno and the results will be posted. I have yet to receive the turbos but I will keep everyone updated. I'm in no way affiliated with Mike or AWD. I'm just a consumer who wanted the topend power that the N54's oem turbos seem to lose while keeping the motor's linear characteristics for road racing. From the original dyno's posted by Mike these seem like the perfect upgrade for what I wanted and I must say I've been around evo's, wrx's and Nissan GTR R32, R33 and R34's (R32 had twins w/upgraded internals) owned by my uncle (may he rest in piece) who was a competent mechanic and I must say the price for these upgrades are quite reasonable. If i'm not mistaken I think he paid around 3k to have the r32's stock turbo's upgraded. Stock I think the GTR's had ceramic internals that would eventually break the exhaust turbine wheels when ran above 15psi.

Oh and in case any one asks about the GTRs I lived in the Caribbean most of my life. My uncle imported used cars directly from japan which he would sell or keep since he to loved racing.

Good. BorgWarner is just as good of an OEM manufacturer as Garrett, Mitsu, Bosch, Conti, etc.
They have recently entered into the high performance aftermarket market like Garrett does with their GT & GTX turbos. Not a lot of results yet but the Borgwarner turbocharger lineup for the aftermarket looks very promising. |

**UPDATE**
The good news is we got the car back for more testing.. The bad news is supplier we used in Miami who said they would ship us a new nozzle for their Meth kit on Wednesday never sent it.. So we stayed on the phone all day thursday while NOBODY could say if it shipped, why it didnt ship, when it will ship.. So we were not able to do anything with the meth.. Since the last tune we Changed plugs which appears to have NOT been the issue with the car not revving past 6k.. It seems MY GUESS is that its something boost related.. If the boost stays down just 1psi lower it will make it past the ignition cut.. Im not 100% savy with the tuning and how it works on the procede so maybe Shive can chime in.. When the car held a slightly lower boost level it would rev out.. On the street it pulls like a BEAST to redline.. On the dyno it will not pass.. I think the dyno below shows CLEARLY this car hold 450+ whp to 7k RPM.. Look at the boost plot.. It isnt dropping off at all at 6500.. running it 7k on the street you can fell it does not drop power and pulls like a freight train.. right now this is the best data i could acquire for you guys.. The customer could only give up his car for a couple days so its been returned back to him but i think we have good information.. We have a PEAK 449whp and dozens of 440+whp back to back runs on Race Gas.. Actual boost is about 1psi lower showing on the procede Vs. Our map sensor on the dyno.. Sorry bro, but u need to order all of the injectors from all of the meth companies that are in our community. If you have a problem with a brand, post it, but we don't want to hear excuses ( not being a dick - seriously). You may want to post a dyno soon that doesn't appear as if you are stalling the results... Just saying that a lot of People that I know are putting off there order

Its QUITE OBVIOUS the car is not dropping boost.. if this isnt enough then wait for some unbiased results before you order.. plain and simple.. Mke Last edited by AWD Motorsports; 01-07-2011 at 10:02 PM.. |

I will post results as soon as I can. I should have my car complete within a couple weeks as long as all my parts come in next week. I will post results with 93 octane +meth using a M10 injector and if I have time 100 octane + meth. For reference my car is a xi coupe, auto with all boltons. I look forward to the setup.

And remember that it is much safer to make more power via a little more boost with an upgraded more efficient turbo vs. more timing on the stock pea shooter turbos. |
