I'm watching this auction! I'm curious how far away we are from reserve. Also for the winner, are you willing to hold the car for a week or two, while one arranges shipping or travel up to pick it up?

I am absolutely willing to hold the car in my garage for as long as necessary! However, as my new M40i should be at the dealer by the weekend... the sale would have to close ASAP. I will need those funds!

INDEED. "No Reserve" would not be a good strategy about now...

+1 it really is unfortunate because this is a clean example.

Why would I do that? I need to at least get the $2k I just spent to have the oil pan gasket fixed on top of what the dealer offered me in trade to make this foray at all worth it.

If it doesn't make my reserve, than I'd rather just pay full pop on my new car and hold on to the wagon to sell later. I may take a slight bath on this whole thing based on what I could have sold it for a month ago, but if that happens.... I'm OK with that too. And why I was willing to just let the dealer take it off my hands in the first place. This whole thing has consumed my life for over a month... what is that worth? Not sure I would want to go through it all again. There is definitely a time/cost/benefit factor for me. I am well into the point in my life where my time is worth far more than money...

Don't panic. A low current bid on closing day may actually entice more buyers to think they can steal if for a low price at the end. The real bidders pop up with 15 mins left in the auction, that's when it should get interesting. While I thought this was a lock to break $20,000 given recent comps, I still think you'll hit at least 18k despite the Covid outbreak.

Apologies, I for some reason misread that as would be a good time to do no reserve. I think in some live auctions actually do it to drive more interest in bidding. Sometimes when you're in the spur of the moment the bids do go higher

Thanks in advance!
Sorry man, I missed this question somehow. Honestly, I don't notice a huge difference between the two. It is slightly an apples to oranges comparison though. When I bought the E91, the stock 193s were mounted on square Blizzak 225/40/18s so I obviously use those in the winters. (Amazing on snow by the way, even for RWD) Then I found the 313s and mounted those on square Pirelli PZero 235/35/19s. I was a little worried about all the comments I'd read about upsizing to 19s with tiny sidewalls but to me the difference wasn't even noticeable. However, this is coming from someone with a 7 mile commute who drives around all of the potholes I've memorized. Your local roads may be better or worse. The other day I hit an unexpected rough patch and thought to myself, "Damn these 19s!" before remembering: it's February and I'm on the 193s, so there you go...

Ah, thank you for getting back to me. Was thinking about it this morning. Love 313s but would not be unhappy with 193s either. Prolly pull the trigger once the Chinese Virus issues die down.

Speaking of Chinese Virus, these two are still for sale. Both look like good buys to me:

2012 non-sport, AT, x-drive, under 100k miles, second price drop I believe, now $10,900: https://www.autotrader.com/cars-fors...ngId=545407277

2011 m-sport, AT, RWD, 61k miles, price drop to $13,500: https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-...ngId=544156482

As a side note... in case anyone is wondering where "PostModernHero" comes from... looking at the stage, I am the guitar player on the right:

I was very surprised that the bidding didn't go higher. Like others have stated, it's likely a result of all that's currently going on in the nation and the world.
Was the reserve met?
