I notice the boost is a bit higher on 8.1 across the board. Like at 5k rpm is pretty much 1 point higher. I still get a TC right after a shift when the boost spikes. Otherwise felt really strong and smooth. Butt dyno had a hard time differentiating between the two but the #'s dont lie. I think I'll leave it here for a while. I like it so far. Take a look. Let me know what you think for better or worse. Any issues you see etc. Thanks
It does seem the boost stays a bit higher for a longer period with the V8.1 but please learn how to do proper logging: full throttle in 3rd to 4th gear 2-7k rpm... Only then you can compare exact.

Based on the log (unless you have some option that im not aware of) it looks like your map is requesting low boost, resulting in overboost and large TC. Your boosting seems great...

Thanks but just so you know with all the traffic around here I'm lucky to get those logs without risking my life and others. I figure I'm comparing the kind of pulls I do. No sense going to 7k rpm. It drops off past 6K which is where I shift anyway?

Looks pretty good to me. Go get some E85 and run 1+ E30 map. You have a IC but the iat climbs a bit but I ran that on the stock IC last winter. Then you feel a real kick in the pants. Actually try the ACN91 1+ and log. I'd be curious what it looks like.

Hello guys, hope can someone help me out, after testing from back to back from the stock IC to my new eBay intercooler it looks I managed to lower my IATs a lot, but still I have several questions regarding my runs:
1) boost seems lower than everybody else ( I see most run 17-18 PSI)
2) Target load vs my actual load is very low
3) my AFRs seem super lean! always on the high 12s low 13s! Don't know if it has something to do with the fact I'm running 92 oct on a 93 map?

Car and mods:
- 2008 135i, 6 speed manual, with 85,000 kms ( 52.000 miles)
- don't know if the car has ever been walnut blasted
- OTS MHD stage 2 map for 93 oct
- ARM catless downpipes, secondary cats removed, stock catback with remus muffler
- stock airbox with stock panel filter
- eBay Majesty 5" stepped IC
- 92 oct fuel used
- 6 new Eldor coilpacks with NGK SILZKBR8D8S 2 steps colder plugs gapped at 0.022" (these came on the car so don't know the mileage on them, just cleaned and gapped them)
- altitude where I live is 8,900 ft

Thanks for any help!

Switched back to V7 stg 1+ as I was getting heavy throttle closures with V8 stg 1+. Seems to have helped quite a bit. Bank 1 is still being lazy with the fuel cut-off compared to Bank 2.
Still a difference in delta AFR's between banks though, from researching if its less then 1.00 its deemed acceptable. I honestly wouldn't even know how to address this issue. All I can seem to find is people using INPA to reset fuel and lambda adaptations instead of MHD. Guess I'll try that next.

Off the shelf maps won't work right at altitude. You need a custom map

Any of the top guys could sort out a map to work right for you. And I'm sure most are having some sort of sale right now.

Wedge. Twisted. Bq. V8bait. Motiv. Etc

Rfp is having a sale right now. $100 off tuning. So it's $150 for a custom file. He lives in Colorado so most of his tuning is for that specifically and I know people with altitude have good luck with it.

He also has free OTS maps on his site, you can just try them to see if your car likes them any more than mhd at altitude. But id bet a custom one is the only way youll find your missing power.

I will say, I am tuning with him right now and even the first base map he sent me is rock solid, waiting on a revision now.

I just loaded his OTS STAGE 2 map for 93 Oct, I’ll try to log the car tonight if time allows, was just googling around and found some negative things about him tough should I believe that?

Ive read it too, i run his tunes with no issues, same for quite a few friends of mine. Liked it enough to hand him some money.

Decide for yourself. Drive the car, log the car and decide. If I didnt put past everything I read, id have been stuck in the 12s. Car ran 11.8 @ 117 with his OTS map

I've read negative posts on literally every piece I installed on my car, if I didnt make a decision to try myself instead of listening to what other people online said, id never mod my car. Actually, if I listened to the internet, i'd never own an n54.

Hi all,

Here’s the best log I could produce running stock. Looking to confirm everything is ok before tuning to stage 1+. Mods are IAC, Cobb pipe, tial bov, and KN intake.

I'd tune that without concern

4 logs one the new 8.1 stage 2 map.

https://datazap.me/u/jevenson123/200...og=0&data=3-22

Mods are catless downpipes, VRSF CP with stock DV's, and DCI's.

My main concern so far is that target boost doesn't make it to even 16 psi. Supposedly this map should peak around 18 psi. Actual load looks like it's meeting requested load, however, so I'm not sure if there is actually an issue here.

I also see fairly consistent timing corrections around 5.5k rpm. Any review or additional insight would be appreciated.

RFP got alot of hate because he started giving away tunes for free to promote himself a while back and the other tuners accused him of ripping off their maps.

Ive looked at his OTS stuff and its pretty standard, wouldn't worry about running his tunes. He's definitely more responsive than any of the other tuners on this platform if youre looking to go custom.

I started tuning with him Tuesday this week. I've had 8 revisions so far.

He sends. I log. He sends back.

I haven't had an issue with any revision and each one is just a bit better than the last. My car has a lot of miles so he is being cautious with his changes.

Working great so far.

Question

How does my log look? This is the MHD v7 Stage 2+ 91octane tune. I'm running 93 octane fuel.

It pulls very hard...no real issues. How does everything look? The traction control was kicking in when I mashed it in 2nd gear, but by 3rd the tires were hooking good.

There are two different logs...both 2nd through 4th gear pulls. One right after the other.

https://datazap.me/u/iqraceworks/mhd...og=0&data=3-11

What do you think?

Always log with traction control off

Best to do 3rd gear from 2500 to 6000-6500 with at least one clean shift.

You are meeting boost request fine. In fact as seen in other 8.1 logs the boost (load) request is too low below 3k resulting in unnecessary overboost and large throttle closure.
