50F and sunny. High is forecasted at 55. Might get some rain later today. I've had enough rain for now. The soil needs to dry up some (can't believe I'm saying that, lol).

It was 39 this morning, 53 now. Bracing when walked out the building, comfortable as I was in the office, looking out at the nice sunshine, leaving jacket on the hook.

A few inches of heavy, wet snow fell this morning, and it looks like we're in for more weather in the next few days.

Decent beach day yesterday (despite the stiff breeze and scattered sprinkles)
& nice dawn today

Supposed to be getting wind tonight and tomorrow. Hope the soil has dried up enough. Don't want to lose our pine tree that I wrote about earlier. Had it thinned out a little last Nov to help protect it during our windy seasons.

Working from home today. Already 20cm on the ground and another forecasted 30cm during the day. Talii is happy.
My contractor was in earlier to open the center of my laneway and clear the snow bank at the entrance made by the plow in case I have to leave in a hurry. He'll be back later to finish-up. I think we'll have a good snow base to go out in the trails with snowshoes. |

It snowed for 36 hours and we got about 2 feet but it's the wind that made a real mess creating some hard pack snow drifts. My contractor started at 3am with the clean-up.

Talii makes this picture stand out even more! All that snow reminds me of the biggest storms we experienced in New Hampshire, with snow stuck to the sides of the house and some really big and deep drifts. Those storms were fun for a number of years, but at this age I don't miss them. A big storm here is 8", and I'm lovin' it.

Clear over the redwoods for the rest of the week (Mercury rising in early AM, Comet E3 visible in Draco, prior to dawn)
