And let's say, if i unplug both canister, and check vacuum on monitor MHD gauge , like going the engine to 3000 rpm and waiting if there is a slow drop off for example ? it will not reflect any exhaust restriction ? |

OK, so now let me walk back the categorical negative in my earlier post. Yes, in theory, an exhaust clog could be reflected in a change in the intake manifold vacuum. That vacuum should be highest at idle and decrease as the throttle opens. On a turbocharged engine, the vacuum would quickly change to positive pressure but in a normally aspirated engine the vacuum would trend toward zero as full throttle is approached. In theory, an exhaust restriction will affect those values but not in a dramatic way. Your problem is that you have no baseline. If you had measured intake vacuum at idle and then at say 2000rpm in no-load condition on a vehicle similarly equipped to your BUT WITH NO EXHAUST RESTRICTIONS, you'd be able to make a useful comparison to the behavior of your car. Without that baseline, any numbers you record are useless, unless the clog is so bad that engine performance is quite dramatically affected. |

I know that vacuum canisters have nothing to do with intake manifold but that's exactly why i said we probably can unplug them to disable turbos operation (no vacuum at boost solenoids = wastegates open) and acts as a N/A car to make the vacuum measurment. Also baseline will be a N54 engine with catless DP and OEM secondary midcats, it should be easily comparable with other members, if anyone want to test those values with me, i can make the test as soon as possible. |

I just put a 91 1+ tune on her after having to get a smog check. The boost is a bit erratic? What causes it to fluctuate up and down like this when I put my foot in it? I'll try going back to E30 as soon as I can put 4 gal of E85. https://datazap.me/u/curt/v71-stage-...og=1&data=3-22

Yes I tried going back to MHD maps and they all respond the same way for some odd reason always off 3rd gear boost target.. should I try flashing back to stock and then reflashing?

That's what I'd do - and before reflashing any tune, make sure the vehicle operates normally with a stock calibration file.

Feels good, I'm a little under boost target and my AFR's are a little off. Any ideas?

Second and third gear logs are a little to brief to get some hard fast data.. Try a 3rd and a bit of 4th.. But even with that you got some retards right after the shift. Short term trims are pretty high. So how long ago did you flash it?? Might be still adapting. What kind of fuel is this? Dont use grocerystore - get some name brand avail in your area. I think your prob gonna need one step colder plugs at least. oh, and your IATS go up 22 degrees in 5 secs.. Thats not gonna make power after the shift into 4th.. Its gonna pull power. Start with different fuel.

You can prob turn off COOLANT since that shouldnt really go up during a pull. Ah,, with regard to fuel, Im more seeing the short term trims being really high adding fuel but bank #1 doesnt really need it.. and I wouldnt think bank two would need that much https://datazap.me/u/timothi2/pull-m...25&zoom=22-109 So how long as it been since it was flashed? Reset adapts for Lambda sensors and controls and then drive awhile and log again. This just pump gas 91 from like cali right? What are the mods again? And how old are o2 sensors?

I definitively need to change gas as I keep getting corrections and the short trims seem to be all over the place (I usually use chevron and haven't had any major issues so maybe shell (?)), that plus changing coil packs and maybe getting the car walnut blasted since at 160k miles I don't have a record of how good this car has been taken care of previously thanks a lot for the feedback here is a run I made today IAT seems to be high, ambient temperature was around 55F with a little bit of fog thanks again for your feedback https://datazap.me/u/hededyo/log-157...2&data=3-13-20 |
