New member here..

Hi everyone!!

Like the poster before me, I am also new here and this is my very first post. I just leased a 2011 335 Performance Edition, here are my numbers:

MSRP: $52k
Sell Price: $45k
MF: .00195
Residual: 59%

Total due at signing: $1500 (including first months payment)

36 month
15k miles a year

$595 a month (including taxes)

I really wanted to put as little as possible out of pocket so this was the best they could work out for me. This is the very first car I leased/bought on my own, so I hope I did ok =)It seems pretty in line with what most people are getting, or at least I hope so, lol. Here's a simple pic of my car:

Recently leased a 2011 328i sedan from Norwalk, CA. What do you guys think?

Blk/blk with moonroof and xenons
MRSP: 37425
Selling: 32999.99
36 months/12K
TDO: 5700
Monthly after tax: 276.99

Feedback will be much appreciated! I know the TDO is high, but I needed the monthly to be that amount.

Thanks =)... I have Premium, ZMZ, ZMP, Nav, BMW Apps, Heated seats, and Auto Trans. The only other option I really wanted was comfort access. There was another one on the lot that truly had everything with a sticker of 55k. I figured 3k more wasn't worth me having the comfort access. Plus it had the regular sport package rims. My E46 330ci with 225k miles was finally giving in and I've been having some major issues with it. I wanted the F30 but couldn't rely on my E46 anymore, so I figured I'd lease this E90 then get the F30 in 3 years. But now.. I love it so much, who knows I might keep it. But maybe I'm just saying that because in the honeymoon stage right now

I still have my 330ci, I basically I need a whole new exhaust system because 10 years ago, I installed the Dinan intake. Little did I know, that has sucked up to much crap over the lifetime of the car and has now clogged my cats. So I still havent figured out what to do with it. Its worth almost nothing so I can either fix it and drive it into the ground or try to sell it for whatever I can.

But back to the topic, believe it or not, I sent the dealer a price quote request and the 7k off was the first reply I got back. They even knocked off a few more hundred bucks when I came into negotiate. I had offers from multiple dealers but only one gave this to me right off the bat, so I was very pleased with the whole experience.

For anyone in the Orange County Area, I went through Shelly and dealt with Axel. I've had a few quotes from him over the years, and it has ALWAYS been the best when compared to other dealers in the are. This process started over 2 years ago actually, lol, and I remembered being treated so well then that I just came back to him... and no surprise to me, I got a great deal.

Looks good to me.

Looks like a good deal to me! Could have gone a bit lower on the sale price but I'm pretty sure you did better than most.

Each additional security deposit lowers the MF by 0.00007, up to a maximum of 7 security deposits or 0.00049 off the base MF (which, for September 2011, is 0.00195 or 4.68%). So right now, the MSD program lowers the MF to 0.00146 or 3.5%.

Next, you need to calculate your MSD outlay - this is what you will pay BMWFS at lease inception to lower the MF. A typical SD is your monthly payment rounded up to the next $50. In other words, take your monthly payment after all other factors (rebates, loyalty discount, cap cost reduction, and negotiated purchase price) and round it up to the nearest $50.

For a realistic example, let's assume a $45,000 selling price, 60% residual, 0.00195 MF, and 36 months. A straight lease on that comes to $560/mo. Your SD on this lease would be $600. Multiply that by 7 to get $4200 - that's what the MSD program will cost you at lease inception.

So how is handing BMWFS a check for $4200 beneficial to you? Running the same lease with the lower 0.00146 MF drops the payment to $525/mo. So that's a $35/mo savings or $1260 over a 36 month lease. Not only do you save $1260 over 3 years, but you get a check back from BMWFS at lease termination for the full $4200 (less excessive wear and tear or mileage overages, which you would need to pay regardless). Using simple interest, that's a 10% per year guaranteed tax-free rate of return.

This is a great option if you have some cash laying around. It's a solid investment opportunity, and the rate of return is actually very good.

Hope that explains it. If you still have questions, post up!
Wow, great explanation!! Thanks!

Question Gonna buy a 328xi...any advice?.

Hey guys I'm an interested buyer and was looking into leasing this particular BMW. I'm really looking forward to getting this car but am in need of a second opinion. Do you guys think this is a good deal? I've also been looking at the 2012 328xi that should come out in the summer. Would it be better to wait or lease this 2011 for a while and then after a couple of years try to get a different, more current model? I'm open to the idea that I could like this 2011 so much that I might just want to keep it! any suggestions?

thats too much.

First of all why would you $5365 upfront? have you leased a car before? If you get into a car accident and the car is totaled or you want to get rid of the lease (lease trader/swapalease) you will never get back that $5k.

Only lease your car with $0 down, taxes rolled in, Only first months payment. If anything pay the 7 MSDs.

In your current offer your monthly payment is really around $500/month with $0 down.

I was offered $480/month for the same car as yours + 15k miles/yr.
I was also offered a 2011 retired loaner (11k miles on it) fully loaded for $430/month for 15k/yr. 27 month lease.

I would really appreciate the communities response on this "deal."

My father just came home with it, said he went in because they had a "special" going on. Not sure if he got the BMW loyalty incentive or anything like that, but what's done is done & I would just like to evaluate the deal he got. Thanks for your time!

EDIT: Sorry, but I don't know the money factor or if my father got any incentives. I just wish to know how the deal went.

There must be significant variation in pricing from west to east coast. I got my car in PA. My truecar pricing certificate was actually $200 less than the price I ultimately paid, but the truecar dealership was 60 miles away.

Good deal. I could get this deal or slighlty better as well. Deals on the E90's are killer right now, as they are coming to a sad end.
