I wasn't comparing a turbo to a downpipe. I just stated that performance parts are just not that good of a quality part. Of course everyone these days wants to save a couple dollars and I understand that. With me, it's all about the quality of a product. Just look at this thread.
So, someone has an issue with surface rust on their DP's. I have UR's and mine look just fine. Not sure what your point is. Besides, no one has run these new downpipes or had them for any period of time to verify anything.
Everyone will need to wait until someone uses them to determine their "value", period. And yes, If I can save a couple hundred dollars, I will... I don't have a money tree in my backyard.

Lets get back on track. Has ANYONE INSTALLED THESE DP's YET??? We're not taking about other cars, other turbos, other DPs, or any other crap. We talking these DPs and these DPs alone...

Next steps for me are:

1. Dyno in stock form.

2. Add JB3 and dyno.

3. Install downpipes/fix and dyno with stock map. (will photograph/document install)

4. Dyno with JB3 map.

We will see how it goes...

Cue the questions and additional picture requests.

I would like some closure on this too....Results or BAN!!!!

I would stay clear of these DPs, its been a while since the two people purchased these and still no feedback....That leads me to believe that what was purchased didn't fit right or the OPs that bought it realized its a POS and not even worthy to try it out on a 50k+ car...

Or they are actually putting some milage into the DP's before coming back and giving a full review. Im sure if they were sh*t and had no fitment, they would have reported back already.

Bump for install verification and results. I read these were an exact copy of the Ultimate Racing 2.5" catless downpipes. Does anyone have performance results with Ultimate Racing downpipes? How about photo of a set to compare?

Picture Comparison UR to Raceland. The UR looks like it has 11 welds on one pipe and 7 on the other while the RL looks like it utilizes more mandrel bending with 7 and 3 welds respectively.

First pic is UR
Second is RL

Agreed, odd that the $200 look better (not saying that they look great). But if UR produced good #s i wouldnt be surprised if Raceland does the same.

This reminds me of the "eBay headers" that popped up on e46fanatics for the E46 M3. After long term tests, dynos, & all, lets just say the guys who bought name brand headers costing up to $2,500 before installing were left feeling a little screwed. I think the eBay headers were under $300 if memory serves correctly with the SAME performance.

for my experience the cheapo DP's are a serious pain in the ass to install since they dont fit well, lead to exhaust leaks AT the turbo, etc...... i havent touched these but i'm referring to other bargain brands.

buy a good set and be done with it.

My $.02 - do people not see the questionable ethics in taking someone elses hard work, sending it to China, and having it ripped off? I guess ethics/morals play no part in some peoples lives *shrug*

They look horrible unpolished. But when you can pay someone $1/hr to polish out all your bad welds.....

LOL, you can't exactly count welds on a pipe that has been ground and polished out. Its the same design. I have a set here at the shop.

Yup. And, a good gasket to fix issues from a poorly made set of downpipes is not a good idea, IMO. The turbo side flanges on the chinese DP I have here at the shop are PAPER thin, and the welds look horrendous as well..... I can post comparo pics between their flanges and ours of people want.
