Thanks
I'm confused were you filling out the form for a lease or finance?

You shouldnt put any money down on a lease. Instead, you should think about doing Multiple Security Deposits which will lower your Money Factor. These are fully refundable, so if you crash your car and its a total loss, they are refunded. If you put "a lot" down and you total your car, that money is gone, you wont get it back. It is generally a bad idea to put any significant amount of money down on a lease.

Oh no, I'm planning on buying it (financing through BMWFS hopefully). The downpayment will be large because of the lack of a trade in, since I'll keep my current bimmer for a while. I also just figured that it'd be easier to get financing if I put a larger downpayment, is this true or is it just a farce?

Oh ok, then down payment is good. It will mean less risk for the bank. When I financed my last car, they offered there "best" deal at about 6.5%, I went to a credit union and got 5.75%, and told them I would be using the CU and wouldnt you know it, bam, they come back with 5.6%. But I was prepared to go with the CU if they didnt beat it.

Thanks anyway!

Actually I finally got approved... I received another email this morning... That's a bit weird, but still good news

yes that's Jim Archibald in Sonnen BMW CA. He will give this price ($1,500 over ED invoice for the E93) to anyone who knows about it!

you should ask your CA to do a credit check for you. I really don't know why you got rejected with such a high credit score even though your history is not that long

They need to have some higher credit lines in their report. You can have a good credit score but not have bought a condo or a house yet or an "Ultimate Driving Machine " vehicle yet. They might also need to put more money down to get established to the next level. It gets easier over time if you pay your bills on time.

Ok, after talking to my dealer today I was left wondering about the pricing of ED vehicles: is there an MSRP for ED? Or is there just an "invoice price" that the dealerships then mark-up? My CA told me that with an E93 that he thinks they could only do $500 or $1000 off the MSRP.....and I'm like "for European Delivery?" It just didn't make sense to me, I might post a new thread about this, because I'd like to know how most dealers structure their mark-up with ED vehicles. Maybe my CA just isn't that well informed? Please help as I'm trying to do the deal over the next week! Thanks!

Yes, there is both an ED invoice and an ED MSRP. MNost good CA's that are experienced with ED work UP from ED invoice. Its just a given. They know that 99% of the clients they are talking to are educated enough about the ED program that they know that everything is based on ED + $$, so that should be a warning sign that your CA is working down from MSRP.

ED MSRP is a standard 7% less than US MSRP, but everybody gets a deal less than that. I have a link to a confidential form that has both the ED MSRP and invoice numbers, PM me for it.

Who is your CA? If you want a smokin good deal from a dealer that does tons of ED's, call Adrian at South Atlanta BMW. He will give you great prcing, service and lease numbers

Where can I find ED invoice pricing on the E92?

Also, what type of weather could I expect in Munich in October/November?
I'm thinking of waiting for a MY2008 at this point; which I think would put me at a Oct./Nov. ED date. At the same time, I don't want to buy snow tires that I'll never need again.

IIRC the Welt will start doing tourist deliveries on the 22nd. Nothing from the 1st-21st of October.

Pricing, it's a sticky on one of the subforums here. Search.

Are you allowed to mod your car when you do ED?

I'm going to do ED when I buy my E92 and I want to get 3M clear protection while I'm in Germany because I plan on doing some serious cross-continent driving.

Info will be much appreciated.

Thanks !

I wouldnt mod it over there. Some mods will make the car unable to satisfy US specs thus customs will reject that car. 3M clear bra shouldnt be a problem though (but dont take my words for it).

I asked this question and people have convinced themselves that this is a no-no and somehow imported parts from Germany are cheaper on US soil than they are on German soil . Plus poor babies; don't wanna be refused warranty work by their local BMW dealer.

If your dealer isn't mod friendly, leave your car stock or find somebody else to do the work.

What did you have in mind? I had some of my questions answered by those that actually KNOW and they aren't posting on the net with assumptions.

Just got my VIN!

Just received my VIN today! How long before I can expect to pick my car up? I used the military sales.
