Being wreckless is a selfish CHOICE in behavior and in this case the driver made a choice to say F*ck You to society and anyone else who happened to be on that roadway. Calling it a "mistake" excuses the action here.
...talking about misspelling, THE WORD... is reckless.

How do you compare exceeding the speed limit on a public road (what 5-10 mph?) to driving at maybe 2-3 times the speed limit, driving on the wrong side of the road and then flying off a cliff? And then you clap?? That's just stupidty.

Nobody is perfect, but you're trying to use that to defend the indefensible. There is a chasm of difference between being on an interstate and racing some fool in a cobalt in the left lane 60-130mph or so, and driving on the other side of a public road, around hard corners (that the driver clearly had no experience with). I'm sure we all get a little lead-footed here and there... we all bought M3s after all, but this is a clear case of abject stupidity on the part of a young, inexperienced driver.

As someone who has done a large number of spirited drives in his lifetime, I will tell you that these people were going WAY too fast for a public roadway. Sure you can let it loose a little, but this was ridiculous. Also, the roads themselves were dangerous to begin with.

The most dangerous type of road is one with short radius vertical rises and dips. You car can get easily unweighted on the rises and you will lose all steering control.

These people could easily have died. If you are going for a spirited back road drive, it is best to scope out the road first ahead of time. If you are veering into the opposing lane, you are going too fast, plain and simple. A back road is not a race track and you should never attempt to drive on it like one. The key is that you can get moving in spurts, but other times you really have to slow it down.

It can be done quite safely and is still a lot of fun, but if you want to drive like you are on a track, then drive on a track.

I think alot has to do with age...i drove like fast and furious when i was 16- early twenties. I drive like a grand pa now most of the time. Even consider getting the new Rav4 and saving up for the CPO 911 once prices start to drop

Damn. That E46/M3 was severely damaged - Did the driver survive the crash? Looks like he missed a blind curve. Should have taken it to the track...
