Love that pintail Ed.
I got lucky with a coyote hunting and shot from my M3 car-blind: Coyote Hunting by dcstep, on Flickr This is after sundown and at ISO 3200.

From another BMW i8 event in Miami last week... this lady was quite interesting with her parrot - I think that's a parrot, right?!

Did she flip you the bird?
I like how you caught the backlight.

"No birds were flipped in the taking of this image".
Yeah I REALLY like this image because of the light. It's unedited except standard lightroom preset, which adds a bit of sharpening and color NR. But contrast/shadows/etc. all untouched. There was a huge floodlight (focused on the i8 not seen here) which was at a (maybe) a 45 degree angle to the camera. You can see the light I'm talking about in this photo from the other side: Star of the Show by ddk632, on Flickr |

Monster cookies = Oatmeal, Peanut Butter, M&M, Chocolate Chip and Raisin. Bit of a weird perspective on this shot.

Beautiful country. I was there for 11 days in 2008 on a photography trip. Drove the entire Ring Road and some offshoots into various fjords, and camped along different camp sites. It was during the summer though, so I didn't get to see the Aurora Borealis. I definitely want to come back during the winter months! Unfortunately I was quite rusty and had a cheapo tripod, didn't have GND filters, etc., so looking back now, I feel like a lot of my photos from Iceland aren't very good. Still, this is one of my favorites: Icelandic Sunset by ddk632, on Flickr If you're interested this is the whole collection - http://www.flickr.com/photos/davidkh...7605879371216/ |

Pretty darn good for a disappointing effort!
I have been considering a summer motorcycle trip to Iceland for several years, but things have just never come together. A good GND setup would have been nice on this trip as as sunrise and sunset was separated by a mere six hours. Sadly, my efforts in capturing the "Lights" didn't meet the degree of success as I would have liked, mostly due to a lack of practice in that type of photography. However, the extreme cold & wind didn't help. Nor did the clouds that hid the display for a couple of nights. |

Cool shot, IRide. What is that dome poking above the mountain? 1/5 in from the right and 1/5 way up from the bottom.

Thanks for the offer and I may take you up on it as I've been considering a "break out from winter" ride to Key West in February. No firm plans as yet, just a consideration.
I've also been considering paring down my usual motorcycle DSLR kit from it's usual 18 pounds to a Sony RX 1R and call it good. Again, another consideration! |

Cool
I can't downsize, love my lenses too much. Although the new Sony A7R + metabones adapter is looking quite interesting! |

Mallards on a very chilly day (for us anyway). I love how they look purple in this light.

They're swimming. It ain't that chilly.
Love the low angle POV. Panicos, that's a very cool looking dog. Is life getting back to normal on Cyprus?
