Sirdaft couple of great cars there. I went to a Ferrari anniversary meet at Brands Hatch in 2002 I would guess. There were F40's and F50's there, unbelievable cars. I think at the time it was the largest gathering of Ferrari's outside of Italy.

A guy around the corner from me owned a furniture store and he had a Porsche 911 speedster, a grey Nissan GTR and Silver Nissan GTR - one was the model you saw the other was an earlier version. Both were grey imports (easier to do in the UK as both RHD cars).

Very cool. Glad to see people using their cars!

Edit: noticed the Montana plate... they still have no speed limit in places? I bet the GTR can move!

This has been THE car for so many car enthusiasts since they were kids (as it has been mine). But now after having seen it in person... I was a bit underwhelmed. Mind you, this was a stock V-Spec. But it looked every bit the age it was. Wheels were sunk in, tail lights looks Impala-like, the trunk and tails look weird, super basic interior. TBH I have no idea how this guy even had plates on it. They're definitely not outside of the 25-year old import rule. Probably imported to Canada, then drove it over and registered it at a Nissan Maxima

Regardless... I'd still absolutely take one!

The R34 Skyline is a pretty ugly car by design, and the GT-R is no different. Best described as awkward - especially the rear end. All models of GT-R are quite common in NZ (we have a long history of having used Japanese imports shipped here) but the best looking is still the original R32. Some have been turned into race cars, some are all original, and some modified - but you don't see R32s as often as you do the R33, R34 and R35 which are about in reasonable numbers.

If you like GTRs, you should do some internet searches on how they dominated the 1,000km (620 mile) race at Mount Panorama, Bathurst, which is in Australia. At the time Holden (GM) and Ford were the two mainstays and ran iron 5.0 V8s - but then the R32 GT-R came along and obliterated the field for about 2 or 3 years - until it was outlawed by the governing body of the race for being too competitive.

Check out trademe.co.nz for a few examples of GT-Rs for sale, like this one: https://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/use...1393876689.htm

The R32 was the other model the guy near me had! Was great looking in a dark 'mineral' grey. Sounded good too. The accountant across the road had a Ferrari 348 (I wish it was a 328).

They do sound great. R32 GT-Rs with the later model R33 GT-R wheels look really nice too. One day they'll be worth mega bucks, and it seems they're already on the way now.

Funny, looked up the guy that owned the 2 skylines and found this article- I was aware his shop was destroyed.... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...on-attack.html - I guess this funded his toys... I worked in an office license and he came in regularly.... always loved the red Porsche Speedster he had, but the Skyline was super rare....

Thanks for sharing! Ironically, the R32 is the most "common" one we see here in the US (aside from R35's) since it's technically the only non-USDM model that qualifies for the 25 year import exemption. Cannot wait until we see the R33 qualify. Would love to own one of those at some point.

Yup

Absolutely perfect fitment. No spacers needed. I'm running a 245/3/5 front and 265/35 rear, it's almost flush with fat, meaty tires. The grip is absurd, I swear you'd lift the opposite front tire before this thing runs out of grip. And best of all: ZERO rubbing!

Didnt locate new members thread so just posting here. After 10 years of Mercs I found this nice little coupe so I bought it

So what exactly I'm getting with $16 000?

- N52b25 2.5 liter 6cyl engine and some space gray metal from the year 2006
- Cloth seats (not even fake leather seats)
- No M-sport stuff
- No i-drive
- Rattling interior (even my old merc with 250k miles had more solid interior)
- No anything
- A wish cars here would be as free as anywhere in the world

Still a very fun car to drive, not planning to mod it in any way (most mods in here are just awful). Fuel consumption just sucks, was used to 50+ mpg with my Mercs and now getting barely 20. 98RON setting me back $7.2 per gallon...
