Looks very tempting as a solution while I save up for DCT with upgraded hardware.

My question is just this , for all the coders in the US , is it not possible for you guys to assist us far away with the TCU flash, thru remote desktop?
Retrofitting a DCT into your car would be very costly. I suggest that you just do the flash and if you don't like it, you will have lost less than $100. If you like it, you will have saved thousands. That sounds like a pretty good deal to me.

I'm sure you can find somebody willing to help.

So it is possible, but just whether or not you can find someone that is willing to help you with that.
I have a cable , that has the mod done to it plus I used the Mprog to configure the cable to work perfectly with INPA. I have a late version of the INPA installed and working.

I also have all the other programs for BMW installed needed for this job. But I would prefer someone who have done it a couple of times before to nanny me thru it , dont want to mess things up.

All I need to get is upgraded AT , mine is a old 9/2006 ZF6HP21 or what ever it was named , not the 19 version. The mechatronic is whats need to be upgraded only .... Enrita gonna skin me alive now , I know its been said somewhere , but have me excused , I have a small toddler running around here , try set of time to read......

The DCT will as I mentioned , be an option for later . Yeah it will be pricy , but at this point I stopped caring about it....

It is completely night and day with how the car/transmission shifts and reacts. I feel like it's a whole new car again. I can't wait to through my tune back in and get E85 in and do some pulls. No more inconsistencies and smooth shifts throughout the gears (both up and down).

I definitely recommend this for any 6AT N54. This is worth it and will definitely put a big grin on your face!

For those who are wondering my car is a 2008 E90 335i with a Sept 2007 build.
Told you words couldn't describe what it was like until you drove it!
"Night and day" is the best I could do.

Do you feel any hard downshifts going from S2->S1 when you're coming to a stop? Where it feels like something got locked up (brief pause jerk) and then your car rolls again? Any noises by any chance?

Hi , I can get hold of DCT transmission for 2000$ and less.

Other than that its needed some coding I guess ?

What more would I need to get hold of and what things needs to be done ?

All knowledge is welcome

You'd need a new dme too, no?

Not sure if the differential is the same as well

I find DME at 160$

If I cant use my diff any more , I`ll sell it and get me a diff for manual/DCT

Would just like to know the exact requirements...

There shouldn't be any clunks or noises.
The only thing I can think of is that you are shifting to first while already almost at a stop and you are feeling the torque converter unlocking and locking again.

That's what I feel and the problem is I'm not the one shifting. It's automatically shifting from S2 -> S1. I'll post a video later tonight.

I'll keep an eye out.

Have you scanned the transmission module for any codes (besides the 511B code)

is anyone with the flash able to take a video of the downshifting capabilities? I read that they're less strict, just trying to see what you can get away with and how smooth they are.

Like everybody has said its a NIGHT and DAY DIFFERENCE!!! The way the car shifts as soon as you touch the paddle which is literally almost and I mean almost as fast as a DCT car. The rev matches are hugely improved on the way it did on the OEM TCU. Again, night and day difference. For the cost of it (basically free if you know what your doing)+ a cable. I highly suggest you know what your doing when doing this though and if you dont get in touch with cn555ic or Wedge1967 and they can guide you in the right direction because the last thing you want to do is mess your tranny up. But again, This is one of the biggest breakthroughs in N54 AT cars!! I guarantee you will LOVE IT!

Nope. I've only had it for the night but I haven't noticed or heard anything out of the ordinary. I'll drive it later and check back for you.

Here's the link to my S2->S1 issue.

The car's completely warm and have been driving over 30 minutes by then.

Sorry for the shakiness. You can hear it kind of faintly at 33 seconds in. Or the second to last second.

Here we go! I'm falling in love all over again!

WOT with the TCU flash

The clunk you hear in the background is the pots and pan (friend borrowing it for a cookout tomorrow) I have in the back seat. Haha they moved around when I stomped on it.
