Hello
I have an upgraded retrofit NBT EVO for BMW E91 with a car system emulator. NBT EVO has ID5 / ID6 car play. Everything works, but I can't do FDL coding. I have an ENET connection to OBD. For some reason I can't connect E-SYS to NBT EVO. When I use E-SYS, the program gives me an indication that it is connected. I load FA fail, but it doesn't load my EQU and it doesn't load CAFD files. Do you have any idea what is the reason and how to fix the problem? Thank you in advance . View post on imgur.com Last edited by JOSE_BG; 01-29-2021 at 02:24 PM.. |

Having a little progress on my Android project so far.
Audio panel on LIN now translate signals to CAN2. Next steps: retrofit to E series (adjust wake-up logic, dimming lights, etc) diagnostic messages Ultrasonic parking sensors (PDC) |

I'm a bit behind you i think. I have the Champ2 unit powered on and doing i-bus to can2 conversions (volume and idrive controller etc), not started on the front panel buttons yet. Be interested the know how you have done the Lin to can2 conversion.

Sure.
I can wake up I-bus, cic (pro and mid)@100kbs and champ2 (nbt) at 500kbs. I have a full cas, jbbr, kombi, hvac, abs/dsc, pdc tv and combox bench setup. The ardunio is to see if i cab just bench power on the nav setups.

Hm, I asking because I have champ2(CIC-Mid) from f10 100kbs and ZGW from f10 with MOST, but no one message doesn't wake-up CIC (130,12f), I have read that CIC in F series waking by MOST-bus. Could you help me with it?

Of course.
First off, the champ2 runs at 500kbs. Connect all (champ2 and zbe) canbus to the 500kbs (canbus2). if you want to use the zgw, connect to the MOST and canbus2. Then use (every 100ms) 130 : 0x45, 0x40, 0x021, 0x8F, 0xE2 // 0x130, Wake up network 26E : 0x40, 0x40, 0x3F, 0x50, 0xFF, 0xFF, 0xFF, 0xFF // 0x26E, Ignition stage 2 and (every 500ms) 12F : 0x37, 0x7C, 0x8A, 0xDD, 0xD4, 0x05, 0x33, 0x06 // 0x12F stay alive This powers on the champ2 unit on the bench.

pRoxxxDD, how do you generate CAN traffic?
I've spent some time until realized my mcp2515 didn't work. Few other things to consider: 120Ohm terminator, polarity of can bus connection (when I switch reverse it does not work) |

^^ what he said.
Make sure that you use the correct 2 pins from the mcp2515 (i use the non terminated with the zgw or the terminated without the zgw) Its plugged into an arduino nano and the script is a modded one from online (do a google search).

I have the same issue, were you able to resolve it somehow? In my case I was able to read CAFD a the very beginning but then it turned out that unit have component protection and transport mode on, I gave it to someone that unlocked it on bench, now it is turning on and “working” but I need to code it to work good with adapter and my vehicle equipment but now I can’t read CAFD. Can anyone help and tell me what can be wrong? Thanks Last edited by Badurson; 03-07-2021 at 07:11 AM.. |

Hey,
How are you connecting to the NBT Evo? I have mine wired to the OBD2 port in my E90, I then use an ethernet OBD adapter, and choose "Connection via Gateway URL", which I set as "tcp://169.254.199.99:6801". It returns a gateway check failure, but able to load ECU and code just fine. If you're having issues, make sure you don't have a VPN setup that is affecting traffic. Disable other network adapters to test. Make sure you get a reply from pinging the above IP. If you get a ping response but don't see it in E-Sys, maybe check in Tool32 that it's not in any odd modes or errors to explain (believe the job is 'fs_lesen'). |

Hi,
I'm going to fit the NBT EVO ID5/6 head unit to my e series using the Carsystems adapters. Could someone please shed some light in laymans terms on the following on the following; Can a head unit be used from any F or G series bmw donor model? for example, could a head unit be taken from a donor X5 G05 and fitted to an E9x and be flashed/ coded to show the correct car info, the 3D graphic image and car parameters etc? Is it best to look out for a head unit from a donor car that is the newer model of yours, same engine size, body shape etc? Is it best to find a head unit with built in GPS? or is the after market modules just as good. If the head unit has built in GPS, is an ATM module still needed? Ive read some retrofit companies state no emulators are needed as all FSC codes supplied, can someone explain why codes would do away with emulator boxes? Thanks Alan Last edited by AllyG13; 03-16-2021 at 08:01 AM.. |

Any image can be coded but if you want to use the M design you can only use the M car pictures (no wagon etc.) Quote:

If you want to use connected-drive services you will need a genuine registerd atm. This only works in F-Series by generating fake fsc for your vin. In e-series you need an emulator to translate between the f-series and e-series k-can protocol |

I've also installed an evo system into my E series BMW but I'm having issues with gps not working.
My evo unit has the gps connector on the back. I have the following codes for the gps: SYSTEM_GPS_RECEIVER: aktiv GPS_FROM_NAVI: aktiv Gyro_intern: aktiv ADAS_GPS: aktiv Is this correct and are there more lines to check? I've connected the evo unit on the bench with a gps antenna for 1,5 hour but it doesn't detect any sats. I put the gps receiver outside the window. In the service menu it says "gps: check antenna" |

I finally installed NBT to my e84. Have one issue with navigation. It updates every 30-40seconds whatever you configured rote or not.
I'm using Chinese GPS module placed above the head unit. Tried different locations, removed bluetooth antenna temporary. Nothing helps. Can anyone suggest what should I check else. Last edited by vitalic; 06-30-2021 at 05:34 AM.. |
