Oh yeah. I forgot that Pacific BMW threw in the carpeted floor mats. About a $90 value at close to invoice. This brings my price in at $790 over KBB invoice.

I'm about to buy a 330i (don't want any options) and was quoted invoice (33, 495) plus 650 (their profit), 675 delivery, and a 225 advertising fee, which I may try to have dropped.

Total price - 35.100
MSRP - 36.600

Also, being in the military has its perks.. We can register vehicles in states we're not resident's of.. I live in Nebraska and will register it in SC (where I'm from), which has a 3% sales tax, BUT has a cap on new car sales tax of 300 bucks. That beats the crap out of Nebraska's sales tax, which is 6% and no limit (2300 on a new car) and other states I've researched.

I just visited my local dealer looking to get a 330i, he basically said they dont negotiate price and would consider an offer a few hundred below MSRP, he said they have no problems selling the best cars in the world, I took all this as complete BS, and will likely offer at least 2000 below MSRP, is this realistic?

If 330i's were selling like hotcakes from that dealer, there wouldn't be any left on the lot, by definition. I'd recommend reading www.carbuyingtips.com. You should be negotiating based on XYZ dollars above invoice, NOT dollars below MSRP. Otherwise, you're on the sucker's list.

$600 above KBB/Edmunds invoice. Pretty good deal. Just make sure they don't gouge you with anything else besides tax/title/license.

In addition to that, Those of us in Europe still get a US spec vehicle but have full access to all the European accessories that are not offered in the US.

United Buying Service (UBS)

Has anyone in the Washington DC metro area purchased their E90 at BMW of Arlington using the United Buying Service (UBS)? The UBS discount program is available to members of a number of credit unions.

If so, what E90 configuration did you buy and how much of a price break did you get? Unlike most UBS network dealers, BMW of Arlington doesn't publish their "discounts" in the UBS book available for review at credit union offices/facilities.

Thanks!

Question Should I wait until February?

I'm interested in leasing a 330i before my current car lease comes due (Feb. 20th).

I believe the current money factor and residual for a 330i with 10k mi/yr is .00195 and 65%, respectively.

Do you guys think the MF will go up or the residual will go down for the month of Feb.? If so, this would make leasing more expensive and it would probably be better to make a deal in January. Does my logic sound correct? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I paid $34225. That was a 325i Sparkiling Graphite, Premium, Sport, and Nav as options. I also got european delivery so it included 1 months worth of insurance. Since insurance is high for americans in Italy thats worth about $300.

When you or other people say you paid X amount over invoice....are you still paying destination charge? Is destination negotiable or is that just something that's considered built into the price of the car?

Thanks a lot gentlemen....

Yes, destination charges built into invoice($695), plus BMW advertising charge ($200) built in; I think that's what 2 dealers told me and processing fee ($100) (not sure about this one) added to invoice price.

Thanks
My spreadsheet itemized all the option codes and ED invoice prices I got from a link from this website. None of the dealers that responded disputed the amounts. As for your second question, none of the responses raised the issue of "processing fees", but a phone call from one of the sales people raised the issue, and I called the three low bidders to ask about extra fees. VOB gave me the straightest answer (no additional fees beyond tax and tags) and they were the lowest at $700 over invoice, so they got my business.

On ED's, there should never be any additional fees except for tax, lic & registration.

Agreed, but the other two guys I got quotes from wanted a "paperwork fee" that they said they tack on to all purchases, ED and otherwise. One wanted $150, the other $300.

I'd call

Find another dealer. Where are you located?

Go to bimmerfest.com and e-mail one of the dealer sponsor. They won't try to tack on some bogus paperwork fee.
