Just got the 20% charcoal tint on there. It's working out really well...not to dark at night and just right during the day.

ps to all that haven't gotten their rides yet....they are really fast!!!!

so it is offical, CA called this morning, my delivery is scheduled for Thursday at 3:00. My car has been there since last Thursday.. a week to deliver a car to me! I'm really not upset, just can't understand why it took a week to prep and deliver the car... anyway.. I'll post pictures by Friday, I'll be busy driving Thursday night!!!

TXCoupe-- mine still says "in transit" I hope the next time I hear something, it says "at dealership waiting for you to pick it up"

I get the same message on the OC website "en route". I haven't called the 800# yet because that normally doesn't update properly. At this point I am just waiting to hear from my CA.

As far as break in goes, it all depends on who you talk to. I am just going to drive normally without pushing it too much for the first 1000-1200 miles. I think BMW recommends not going over 5000 RPM for the first 1200 miles, but I am not sure. There are plenty of threads on this site about the break in recommendations.

Thanks for the update, I just read that on your thread. I was close to ordering from the dealer out in Tyler (I think it is Mike Pyle). They had a better deal than any of the dealers in the DFW area, but they did not have any allocations, and they did not know when I would get it. I decided on a local dealer with an allocation for April. I don't think I could have waited much longer.

Anyway, Good luck on the delivery tomorrow, and remember to post pics.

I'm with you, my fingers are crossed. It seems the NY cars made it to the dealers pretty quick, but when I look at the Charleston cars from other ships, it took a little longer. But all I know is that our cars are on US soil.

Just got done calling "800" number. Apparently my car is now awaiting a shipping vessel. I guess it's going back to Germany. Actually, I remeber this happening to someone on NY delivery and it probably means that it's thru the VPC and waiting for a truck to deliver.

Just checked, and got the same message "at port awaiting shipping vessel". This is normal. Most people have received this once their car hits the VPC.
