Those Spartas are beauts! How does the pedal feel now?
Converting to my stoptechs was like getting religion on this platform given how horrible the stock sliders are... |

Not to steer away from the Sparta's, but how do you like the Stoptechs? ST60/ST40 setup or? I'm waiting on my ST60/ST40 kit to come in

Yep st60/40 non trophy in black. Also bought some sr33 pads for tracking but I haven't yet run out of pad with the sp compound they come with! Incredible!
I do run castrol srf, to be fair. |

For a 90% street car (that gets pushed to it's limits though), what pad and fluid would you recommend? Glad you are happy with them! I'm hoping they fit under my 18" 313's but I think I'm being too optimistic...

I'd be surprised if it doesn't clear the barrel on the 18s. At worst you can use spacers to clear the concave spokes. Print out the fitment template from stop techs site to check!
Remember apex 17s are designed to fit over the st60s. It's all in the spoke and barrel design. |

I'll do it today the weather is a little nicer so the shop shouldn't be too cold. Any recommendation for pads/fluid? |

I actually wasn't planning on it but ended up liking the sp pads the kit comes with. For street some motul rbf600 will do just fine. Even bmw fluid will. Street driving doesn't even come close to stressing out braking systems thermally.

I do plan on tracking the car eventually, but not very often. Is there a good in between fluid? No more Super Blue or whatever the brand used to be?

Motul is pretty cheap for what it is. I just don't run it bc i can boil it. Castrol srf costs nearly 3x but doesn't boil and lasts longer before being flushing.
For you, rbf is a good price/perf ratio. 660 is the next step up but you might as well go srf at that point, imo. |

My pleasure bud! Let me know if you have any more questions.
What color are you getting and are you going slotted or drilled? |

Remember drilled isn't ideal for track but if you only go occasionally you shouldn't have cracking issues. Same for the yellow color (trends to fade under extreme heat). For street you are just fine!

Pedal feel is perfect, much better than OEM in everyway. Getting religion is a good description. Alan at C&G performance, did it right, when he "bled the brakes" he went around twice. He got them just right. I have been driving BMWs since 1998, these are the best by far. Can't wait to get in and drive it again. I may drive it out to my mailbox (about 40 yards).

That second bleed usually results in a rock-hard and reliable pedal. |

Here's what I do for pics...Take pics with iPhone. Email them to your Laptop, when your iPhone asks you what size...select medium (large will not upload to e90.post). Then goto your email and save pics to your harddrive. Then goto e90post.com thread and select your attachments by using the red +. Works like a champ.

I know most guys love the noises of our cars. But I'd like to quiet it down a bit. Do you think I could install some under-hood insulation. You know, the stuff that sticks or is pinned up to the hood's underside. Would that even make a difference? Thanks,

I have the underhood insulation installed, and car is still very loud under acceleration, since it's from the exhaust. |
