New Dinan Product Stages, Warranty Issues, Revised flash.

Warranty
First, in light of the heated warranty discussions, Dinan is aware of the SIB. Nothing changes, Dinan covers warranty service due to increased boost. Each month Dinan submits a registrar with BMW which lists flashed cars for the month as required by Dinan's agreement with BMW (that's right an actual agreement).

Revised Flash
The revised flash is scheduled for national release on May 10th. This is to address two issues:

1. Emissions standard (which was inadvertently left out); and
2. Return of stock-like throttle/jerkiness. (I'm biased)

Dinan's current flash provides a "linear" response.

Dinan: press the gas pedal 10% ----> the ECU gives you 10% throttle
20%---->20% throttle
30%---->30% throttle
You get the idea. This is why the tune is smooth.

OEM: press the gas pedal 10% ----> the ECU gives you 30%-35% throttle and spreads the remaining 65%-70%, over the remaining pedal travel.

Rev. 2 of the Flash removes this linear approach and reverts back to stock-like behavior, which I am not happy about. However, due to the emissions component you will be required to be reflashed (free of charge) upon any service visit.

Now, for the new products. It appears Dinan has heard the cries from "oil cooler" challenged.

New Stage I “Low Boost”
Does not require a factory oil cooler.
~11 psi-11.5 psi
~$1400-1500

Stage II “Current Flash” (now called Stage II)
13.2-13-6 psi
Requires OEM/Dinan oil cooler.

Stage III
14 psi
Requires Dinan oil cooler and Dinan inter cooler.
Dinan warranty on all products.

No release dates on the middle exhaust or CAI.

I wonder if i can sell my stock wheels and run flat tires. they are the 17 inch ones. wonder how much i can get for them. the wheels and tires have about 550 miles on them

Just gave them a call. they dont have cables for the 08 models. however Habberstad in Long island does if you are interested in getting it there.
