Good price. Did you DIY or did you use an indy?
I did it myself.

Installed Whiteline rear subframe inserts and I'm impressed by the difference they made; the rear feels much more solid and planted even in normal driving. Now the front end feels too soft and numb in comparison! Installation was straightforward but having two jacks really helped. Cavu's post here (and the rest of that thread) was very helpful. Budget 2-3 hours in case things don't go smoothly.

I bought the inserts off Amazon.com when they dropped down to $37: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00BED6CJ0
This Tekton E-torx set is a good price and includes the E18 socket: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000K2K9RW

I also "flushed" my power steering fluid by draining and refilling the reservoir twice with CHF202. I was able to drain out ~350ml each time using an old shampoo pump. I figured doing this once every 30k miles is good practice.

it was fairly simple just use a plastic pry tool on trim. Squeeze the two lock tabs for the button. Then use a very small screwdriver to pop of the little corners hold the trim on. I havent bonded it yet to the button since there is not a flat surface. im thinking of just using a bit of super glue to bond it.

Replaced the oil with Liqui Moly 5w-30 and I also used their engine flush product which supposedly helps get rid of build up.. who knows. After replacing the oil I dumped in some Liqui Moly Cera Tec which is ceramic wear protection product.

#*^&! BMW brake pad wear sensors.

Installed new front and rear sensor wires, then plastic wrapped and neatly tucked out of the way. They will never again throw a 'brake pads replacement' idiot light again. Stupid BMW is building cars for morons now.

Replaced left rear brake light bulb. 2 minutes.

Cleaned and vacuumed the interior. Gave her a bath. Changed oil @ 5k miles.

Finally had the car coded. Recaro SRS light fixed, fog light delete, added Wx radio band, added two additional radio shortcut buttons, added auto door unlock at motor shut-down, and finally deleted the stupid BMW iDrive 'Accept' screen.

It's getting too time consuming and expensive turning a BMW into a satisfactory car for driving enthusiasts.

Washed her today. Boy was she a dirty ho. Pictures to follow tomorrow morning. I need to get into coding and do some minor things that would make the car slightly more enjoyable.

Took the longer way home after my date tonight. Stretched her legs in this great boost weather tonight. Feels good to be thrown back in your seat and hit over 110mph. Giddy up.

I looked at some dealer websites to see how much an alignment costs...the best was $150, some were $199?

She's going back on the road as the airbag is in...

Find a Firestone that will do it and purchase the lifetime alignment for $150.

I used the guy my install/performance shop uses and recommended - $80 and he explained to me ever possible alignment I could have. If you have a local indie/performance shop specializing in BMWs, see who they use.

1. The original OEM battery is getting tired after 5 years. I bought a new Exide battery last night and today bought Carly for BMW sw and Gen 2 wifi adapter.

OEM Battery: 80 Ah / 640 CCA / 45.5 lbs

Exide Battery: 61 Ah / 650 CCA / 35.0 lbs

For comparison, another common battery swap is the M3 CSL spec battery:

55 Ah / 480 CCA / 34.5 lbs

The plan is to program the car for a 55 Ah capacity (closest but less than new battery to avoid over charging), then register.

2. Also, registered for a CCA track day on Friday. Woo hoo!

Installed, programmed and registered new battery. Dropped 5# in back (this is a mild disappointment, see below), gained 10A more CCA, and learned a little today.

Amazon Prime rocks. Ordered the Carly for BMW wifi adapter yesterday afternoon. It was delivered around noon today.

In typical modern BMW form, the procedure is 10x more complicated than necessary. There is a plethora of heavy stiff wires, control modules, vent hoses, and a hold down bracket that need to be managed, followed by programming (if the new battery differs from the old) and registration (necessary). The smaller replacement battery was an easy fit with the multiple clamp down tapped holes.

Was expecting to drop 10 lbs with the new battery, but the old OEM battery was actually 5 lbs lighter than spec, ~ 40.5 lbs rather than 45.5 lbs. New Exide Extreme L2/47 weighs 35 lbs, with 10A more CCA than the old.

Carly for BMW made programming and registration easy peasy. And there's tons of data logging included in the app to keep me busy for awhile.
