I assume it's exducer as well since it'd be impossible to fit a 76mm inducer. That said, 76mm exducer is not the largest that can fit in the 335d LP turbo.

Pre-lci LP turbo has inlet neck with 71mm diameter and a hose can be fitted over it giving higher surface area for air entering inducer. For 335d/lci 535d, the LP turbo inlet neck is not regular round shape and thus requires a modified bushing (thin wall thickness to maximise surface area for inflowing air) to be inserted inside the inlet neck, where a larger diameter inlet hose can be attached. Charged seems to think also that exducer >=75mm will not fit the turbine housing... (Correct me if translation is not accurate). -jarmo |

In LCI535D/335D plastic intake pipe tapers from maf to compressorhousing to inner diameter ~55mm. If you don't go bigger compressor inducer than ~55mm oem intake should be fine. In PRE-LCI535D that intake pipe is different and that's completely different story -that really sucks, literally. |

Exducer 76mm. We did measurements on the dyno with standard air intake and without intake and air filter. There is no difference. I repeat, there is nothing to combine with turbochargers. Hybrid Turbo with bigger compressor wheel is enough. In diesel engines, power doesn't come from the air, only from the fuel;-) We tested the hybrid turbocharger with 82mm compressor wheel and larger exhaust shaft. It gives only LAG. |

82mm compressor excuder. We need to be clear when we're throwing wheel sizes around.
You need air to match fuel. You can't just throw fuel and make power. The larger the turbo, the more fuel required. Saying a larger turbo won't make power is just plain wrong. |

I'll go out on a limb and suggest that power does not come from air or fuel, but rather their combination. It is true that diesel has a wide range of AFR, so relative to OEM AFR levels, more fuel does get more power. However, you won't be very successful running a diesel at an AFR of 10 ... unless, you don't run it on diesel fuel.

I have to agree, has no one seen an 18 year old with a 300$ chip in a Dodge or Ford truck. Fuel = smoke and high EGT with stock air.

I used a mental shortcut so that direct you to the right path... You can have a turbo 500hp + but for what? You want to reduce EGT? Has anyone thought of just hybrid'n the larger turbo ?
The wall of torque low down can hamper traction , and looking at my graphs it's top end that tails off before low end power is much of a issue , sure I get hybrid small and large turbo will be the best, but just for the numbers game would hybriding the larger turbo on its own be worth while ? I run 370bhp and 570ftlbs (flywheel) on stock turbos with dpf removed and Wagner fmic (we also have access to premium diesel) , 400bhp and 635ftlbs with meth on (progressive controller 1x1000cc injector) |
