Lucky I too remember seeing that car previously on CL out of Cali. My friend in San Fran sent it to me. I think it was priced around 20k? It wasn't listed long. The guy only wanted to deal locally so I was out of luck.
This will easily fetch 23k. Might have bought to flip. |

I can't bring myself to buy one of these anymore at 20K+ unless it's an M Sport 6MT in the exact color combo I want. Alas, I still keep looking |

It has about a 25% premium on it, but that seems to be inline with what we have been seeing with these unicorns. One rather important (to me) upgrade it is missing is Xenons -- even my 2000 e46 wagon came with Xenons.

I really miss having Alpine White on my daily. So much easier to keep clean and it stays cool in the summer which is a huge plus in Vegas. Blue/Saddle looks great but lack of M Sport is a huge detractor imho. I'm learning more towards buying an auto bean can and doing a 6MT and cosmetic conversion. It would be nice to get one in an oddball color like Blue Water or something that never came with M Sport in the first place. I also really like the pre-lci with m3 front end conversion. My e82 still isn't done and my e36 is in pieces, so time will tell. I think what e91 I pull the trigger on will ultimately depend on what pops up at the right time. It's not even about the money but more the principal that I could get an e46 wagon and s54 swap it for less than a factory 6MT e91 would cost. I also have an itch for an e39 m5... Too many choices! |

Foot in mouth...ha. Sorry about that. I forgot you were after that car too. If its any condolence the tailgate tends to get pretty dusted up but I can see why the white would a plus in the desert.
I was also thinking about the conversion. The mechanical seems easy but i was worried i would be chasing coding and electrical issues and didn't want to deal with that on a daily. We have similar tastes as I have an e39M (imola). Don't see many in white but man if you could find a white on caramel lux package that would be the setup. Its a great car. Doesn't have the tossability of the e91 but so much torque. Keep an eye on the M5board, knowledgable guys over there. Good luck in the hunt. I will make sure to post any Alpine wags i come across. |

Hey guys - Looking for some feed back -
2008 328i wagon Auto Sport package 98,000 miles clean title Alpine/Beige Good condition except miss matched tires and a decent size dent on the hatch. We agreed on $12k, which seems in line with the market right now but way more than KBB value. Thoughts? I want to pull the trigger today.

I agree, at some point our local markets will force us more than other factors. In my case I wasn't willing to compromise for a non-sport package car and there just weren't any other good candidates even within a 3 hour drive, which we would have done for the right car. $11,800 got us this. As the owner of another vehicle that is worth 4x what KBB says it is, I would suggest that KBB doesn't properly market adjust for small production number models that have ceased production and are popular or growing in popularity in the secondary market.

Yeah, you can't go by any of the common "price guides" on E91s. Most of these are old enough at this point that buyers are increasingly discriminating based on condition, maintenance, garaged status, winter use status, etc, so even automatic trans cars will see widely varying pricing ability for what appears to be similar cars.
As for 6MT E91s, the pricing guides are worthless. NADA subtracts $400 for having a 6MT on the 2007 E91 while in reality the marketplace will allow at least a $2000 premium if not more for a 6MT car. Taken to an even crazier extreme, NADA shows $21k for the "value" of an E39 M5 with 350 miles. Such a car sold last year for $150,000. If you have an E39 M5 with 350 miles, EAG will immediately wire you at least $100k.
