I use Android and know iPhone >>>>>>>> Android in the real world, which is why I'm switching. iPhone is faster, better user experience, more stable, better RAM management, better battery life, long life, etc etc etc.

Android phones have some great specs, but the iPhone shits on them in the real world, particualry in performance. This is indisputable.

The no headphone jack certainly doesn't make it "worse" than other iPhones. Apple has always hated wires and the future is wireless. There is NO doubt. There is even rumor of full wireless charging on the horizon.

The A10 Fusion chip and dual lens camera are a huge step over the iPhone 6s. Say what you want about the camera versus current Samsungs, but the camera is WAY better on the iPhone 7 than iPhone 6s. More memory, better camera, more storage, and A10 chip is a solid update.

These design people that want the phone to somehow look different are just dumb. This form factor works and we need improvements to the internal hardware before we need a phone that folds up or uses a screen on both sides. They gave you new colors, streamlined the design, and changed the home button. What do people want from a design perspective? it's good, that's why every phone looks similar. Look at laptops...they all look relatively the same, but perform better than 10 years ago.

Actually their main point was that they have "courage" (which I absolutely hated that they used that word).

I know exactly why they got rid of it, but in the iPhone 7 they didn't actually do a thing with that extra space. They simply put a plastic piece there to route the additional sound out.

They did not need to do it this time around, but I think their goal is to prepare people for life without the headphone jack, for when the next iPhone comes out. I think the next phone will actually utilize the newly freed up space.

You might want to rewatch it. They needed the room for the taptic engine for the home button. Sound does not come out of the left speaker grill.

Either way, I consider myself lucky that I have never used a headphone jack on a phone, so I won't miss it

I agree with this point for the most part. Let me preface by saying I am totally fine with them keeping the design the same, but I would counter with this: what if BMW only redesigned their models every 8 years instead of their typical 5 or 6. There are some LCIs along the way, maybe some minor engine upgrades, etc. but the overall look and feel remained unchanged for 'well beyond' a standard cycle. This is similar to what's happening with the 7. The design is amazing still, but its become a bit stale, and is not prompting people to upgrade as willingly.

My initial comment was based on the Verge article which said there is a huge hunk of plastic where the headphone jack used to be. Apparently that has now been clarified as a barometric vent instead.

Like I said, I am all for change, and if this sets up the future of phones to become thinner, longer lasting, etc. then that is great. Prior to a week ago, I used my wired headphones for the gym religiously, but with the latest bluetooth headphone purchase, I will not miss the jack one bit.

A phone is not like a BMW. Cars can look a lot of different ways....phones have fewer exterior parts to tweak and also need to function well in the hand.

You have 0 data to backup your last statement. You forget not EVERY iPhone user has an iPhone 6. I am too lazy to look, but a massive number of people are using iPhone 5s and below...this would be a HUGE update for them.

However I have random soft reboots and my wife's 6s alarms don't work.

You can try tracking by reference on UPS. Mine has a bunch of reference number etc ones my phone number (area code and number, no 1 in front and no spaces or dashes) another is my apple order number minus the last two numbers there's a bunch of other tracking reference number but idk what they are or could be worth a try anyway. My card was charged around the same time so I can't see why our phones wouldn't be in the same shipment

You guys gotta be kidding me? My phone "shipped" 9/19 took two days to go to Korea and has sat there ever since. Does either of you show it arriving in Korea 9/21 (Korea time)??

Yes Boston I ordered through apple it started in China took a couple days to leave there and has been in Korea ever since. Here's what I have so far. Times are in whatever timezone the package is in so tracking says 9/21 which is 9/20 in the US
