i can't wait for this product but i keep thinking in my head...
if this product works as its suppose to (ie. undetectable), the 335 E9X used car market is about to become extinct. ps. invest in mitsubishi... i can see their revenues increasing in the near term :P |

I sold my 93 VR4 last year for 15K and I paid 20K for it in 1997 We have only scratched the surface of the aftermarket tuning for these cars. The tuning capabilities make the 335 more valuable not less... |

Tuners should be clever now. They can prepare themselves to be able to offer a good datalogging / code clearing solution and know about the Shark as good as possible to provide custom tunes over the internet and be able to develop maps for the Shark system. I'm pretty sure everybody would pay US$200 for a standard and up to US$500 for a custom tuned map.
In short, tuners should support the Shark solution rather to try to ignore it. My 2 cents. |

Will you be offering a 2 year warranty (similar to Dinan)?

That said, I guess we don't know for 100% sure, but, I just CAN NOT FATHOM that Jim C would put this thing out only to have it not work flawlessley with Progman 29.2 which everyone will eventually have in the near future (i.e. ME who is going in for service next Tuesday...I imagine I'll be a fine new 29.2 recipient ) |

You guys make like this is the first car to ever have a custom tuning interface for it. Think of the dozens of other cars that have standalones or piggybacks available that you can custom tune however you want. If you are stupid enough to attempt to tune your car without knowing how to do so then you deserve to throw a rod.
When I turbo'd my last car I went with an AEM EMS with a base map that was setup for a NA car. I did a ton of research and was able to configure some minor settings (ie. startup tables/idle/fuel table so that it would be extremely rich under boost across the board) just to get the car driveable to the tuner with some safety in case I did boost the car accidentally. I had/have an understanding of what goes into tuning a car, but I don't have the experience or the money to gamble on learning with my own car so I leave that to professionals. BTW, after spending $700 on a "professional tuner" with dyno time I ended up having to still figure out how to get my car to idle and start up under cold/hot conditions on my own. So, many so called professional tuners are by no means all knowing. The moral to the story is that its not rocket science, but if you don't know what you are doing then that should be clear to you. I don't think anyone has anything to worry about as far as people tuning their own cars and blowing them up. These products are available for many different platforms and I very rarely hear of an idiot who tried to tune his own car without any knowledge or experience and blew it up.

I'd like to know if this is true...I was talking to an expert from Ford on a rollover case I have and just threw this out there and he seemed to give me a similar impression... Or, we could continue to ignore this and discuss some guy named Kyle who continues to apparently offer his tuning service... |
