I'm seriously getting really fucking excited now.

Before, it's like "a few weeks later". Now, knowing that it's HERE...I think my eye is twitching.

Edit: Yep.

Hey Pete,

Is the Maersk Welkin still unloading or has she started her long, slow treck back to Newark yet?

Meet Up In Napa?

How about meeting Saturday, July 19th at noon for anyone who can make it. We can take over a chunk of the parking area at Domaine Carneros Champaign Cellers, where I am a member. Here is the address:

1240 Duhig Rd., Napa, CA 94559

Here's the link with a great picture:

Poolboy - Good choice! For anyone who has not been to the 'Wine Country' before, this is a beautiful place. Lots of nice roads, curvy, windy, and endless too! I got lost two years ago (hence the Nav system) coming back from lake Barryessa and if it weren't so darn pretty going through old town Sonoma and the surrounding areas, I would have been pissed, but I wasn't! (I was in my Element too!) I just kept driving these beautiful roads figuring if I stay on the same road, it had to dump me somewhere that looked familiar. Four hours later, I finally hit 101 but BOY! did I drive some gorgeous roads.

Unfortunately, I will be in Tahoe that week on the family vacation (badly needed) so I can't make it. I will be happy to help steer anyone in the right direction (HA HA, get it?) when it comes to planning a weekend up here.

Have fun.

Eluder, where are you coming from? If socal, you can take highway 1 up to SF and cut over. Another nice drive, right next to the Ocean!

Idaho :/ It's unreasonable to ask you to move the meet because of me though. It'd be a fun trip driving to Napa and I have some vacation time to use. I bet we'd can make it.

Idaho!!!! Do people in Horseshoe Bend actually know what a BMW is?? Just kidding! Granted, it would be a long haul for you, but heck you would be going in style!

The best part is I'll have "one of those new M3s" for about 5 years since people here all have trucks. I'm a celebrity!

Well, your cars are off the ship. Someone (like my hotel bellhop) started your car up and it breathed Califonina ocean air for the first time in its life. It was driven to a parking space on the tarmac where perhaps it still waits, behind barbed wire fencing. Your car is no longer a dream--it is a real entity inching closer to your garage.

Let's keep this thread together until our cars have safely landed in our lives, eh?

I wonder where...Anyone made any calls to see if they've left the VPC? I bet we're on our way...

edit: Site is updated! Says I'm at VPC so...I should be en route I bet.

edit: Damn. Wagoner says my car isn't released yet. Process faster!

eluder - You're right. Mine is at the VPC as well. That's the first thing to update on time. It must be automatically entered via scanner on the window.

Pool Boy - Napa is indeed beautiful and full of wonderful things to drink and I'll probably be up there is October but July 19th is a little quick. We already have a few weekends planned waiting for the arrival of the car, eg., visits, Vegas, July 4th, etc.

Anyone feel like finding a phone number for the VPC and give them a call to see if they are working today? I would but honestly, my husband thinks I have gone off the deep end as it is! I will try to run down a phone number for them...

Leslie - This isn't what you wanted to hear but they are not working today. I spoke with two security officers working at the center. They will start again Monday. Is yours showing up on the owner's circle as in the VPC?

Tell your husband you have put the whole thing in perspective and you may not even pick up your car the day it arrives. You are even thinking about giving up your security deposit and getting another Element.

You want me to say that with a straight face?!? I don't just think he will be believe me. (Plus, we don't have a security deposit on it, so he might just like sound of it! YIKES!)

I knew I could count on you to make that phone call! Damn, I was hoping they would work today. At this pace, the car will be ready to go on Thursday. The one and only day I made plans too! Bringing my little one and a friend to Discovery Kingdom, Vallejo that day. I already told my SA to try to get it there by Tuesday or Wednesday at the latest (like he can control it!) But, DO NOT repeat DO NOT call me on Thursday morning telling me the car is ready! That would make for a miserable day at the park!

Oh well, I guess I will be calling Wagoneer on Monday and telling them the same thing! (not really)

Les

PS We traded in the Element for the Prius over a month ago and it is still on their lot - I don't think I am going to tempt the ol' hubby with that option either!

EDIT: YEP, VPC here too, although when I checked it first thing this morning it hadn't changed yet.

I see your point. Tell him you're online to find surprise accessories for his Prius. http://www.coastaletech.com/mudflaps.htm If he doesn't buy that, tell him (in an assertive but borderline tears voice) "At least you could support me in this one thing. I think it is very realistic for your car to arrive on Wednesday. You aren't that much further than me from the VPC. You have a priority one vehicle and, for all you know, the wax may already be removed. The trucks will be lined up Monday morning because that it what they do. The Saturday closure gives them one more day to clear out the unimportant cars from the last ship. Remember that they transport 7 days a week. Greg

Wow, 3 Idaho people with cars on the same ship. Moscow (Me, 335xi), Boise (135i) and Horseshoe Bend (M3). We could almost have our own meet.
