Depends who is behind the wheel. The CSL is not as fast as the E92 M3. It would also depend upon the track.

Only on Cups mate, stick cups on the E92 and see whats quicker around a track.

I tried it with cups in Abingdon, and there is so much grip - wonder what it is like in the ring.

300kilos of extra weight says the e92 is a tank around a track compared to a CSL. Slicks or not, brands hatch or snetterton, you both should know this

25 seconds is quite a big difference between the 2; CSL on cups, and do you think the E92 M3 can make it up the 25 seconds on slicks?

With all due respect Baris, you are basing your opinion on what you've possibly heard and may have read ie. hearsay. I on the other hand have owned BOTH cars and my comments are based on what i know from personal experience. I consider myself a more than competent driver on both road and track and drive my cars pretty much on the limit most of the time. The CSL did not feel as quick as the E92 M3 and although the CSL is much lighter, the E92 M3 has more than sufficient handling to hold its own against a CSL. The tyres are an issue i admit and i would love to put my E92 M3 through its paces on Cups - I actually believe that it would show a CSL a clean set of heels if it were shod with Cups. At the end of the day a lot of it boils down to how big your bollocks are, regardless of what youre driving, especially around the Ring.

I agree, anyone going out to the ring to set a time is likely to end up in an accident. Its a place to experiance not set records.

Hi ya Steve,

Totally understand. Is a shame you won't be there, but family comes first.

Have a good birthday weekend mate.
