Not sure I would agree... if by similar you mean 25 whp and 10 ft/lb more for the Cobb tune...

Below are V5/ JB3 Map 5 and Cobb AP. To be fair- V5 is on their dyno in Austin and a different car.

add the baseline runs into that graph. The deltas are VERY similar. The Cobb makes 6whp more than the V5, not taking into consideration the dyno itself, overall health of the car, or transmission type. I'm all for what COBB brings to the table, but saying the OTS Cobb map is that much more superior to what the Procede currently brings to the table is nonsense.

If the proceed car was completely stock then we have to hand it to Cobb that they have a heck of a tune. The Procede and JB have had 3 years to mature. Cobb is completely new to BMW and their tune can only get better from here.
The procede v5 was on a 100% stock '07 335i on the Austin location dyno. Comparing the output of this '07 to our car is mostly comparable.

Cheers,
Rob

themyst,

Please clarify.

TXSailor,

If the proceed car was completely stock then we have to hand it to Cobb that they have a heck of a tune. The Procede and JB have had 3 years to mature. Cobb is completely new to BMW and their tune is making slightly more power than the established and mature JB and Procede. Fast forward a year from now......COBB can only get better from here.

The jb3 and 4 are untraceable when removed.
This is the major decision factor for me

There is however one concern though. What we need to know does the ECU show a "date stamp" of when the last software was flashed to match their data base records ?

I would just like to thank Cobb for finally providing this community with an end-user flash tuner. I was really surprised that there wasn't one when I came over from the mustang community. Flash tunes really are wonderful things.

I've read through both threads, but haven't seen an answer to this yet - i assume that there will be a tune coming for the 2007 models within a few weeks/months?

I felt the same way. I came over a year ago. Use to use an SCT XCal2 and had a pro tuner fine tune it on a dyno. Everyone in the mustange world flashed.

Does accessport offer any downpipe fix? Something like a suppression of the CEL that comes up when you are catless? And any eta yet on 07's?

so that mean that v5 and cobb are equal on a dyno sheet, if i understand correct or cobb is stronger with 6whp? as i understand v5 car was total stock? was there dci or not? and does the cobbs car was stock or with dci

would be nice to see runs in a closed street as well

also about this:

Depends what kind of dyno they used. Nothing is surprising. Especially if they use one of those heartbreaker mustang dynos.

Wow, COBB is all over e90post right now!

Except from all those beautiful dyno sheets being posted everywhere, how will a COBB powered car perform against the other two piggies with similar boost levels IRL??

...and I'm NOT talking about smOOOOOthness and all that shit.
I'm talking about PURE PERFORMANCE.

You'd be able to do real world real time comparisons (same car, same conditions).
Keep me in the loop guys. I haven't been around as much lately so I've done quite a bit of catch-up reading today.

I have a 2010 335i xDrive with Dinan S2. I'd be willing to help out Cobb in any way that I can.

all this jibba jabba is going to continue until someone gets out there and tests the cobb vs other tunes in the real world via drag racing, street racing (on closed streets of course) or track racing.

If they start supporting euro 335's I'll cobb my car when I get an opportunity.
I'll probably stay stage 1. If this spring works out as promising as it looks workwise, I'll have no excuse for not going stage 2 and meet up with you guys.
