Yeah vert is a tad heavier, but they function correctly on the xDrive.
Sexy very. I rock the same wheels for my winters.
Also look into changing the bump stops for proper travel.

What would you run for rubber w/ the Koni yellow. The bilsteins all come with their own stops. Goal would be daily driver n/v/h.

E36 M3 bump stops in the front and Z4M in the rear I believe is what I am running. That is with KONI Yellow Sports and Eibach Pro-Kit springs on an E90 335xi.

I daily drive that combination on Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ tires, non-run flat. Let it be known I daily drive in Michigan also. Awful roads to say the least. I don't have any issues with it N/V/H wise. It is a little harsher than stock, but is certainly not as bad as most other setups.

I just replaced my original shocks with Blistein B4s. How do you know how far to slide the knuckle up the shock? Does that impact ride height or anything?

The steering knuckle? There should be a mark/nipple near the bottom of the strut. You want that to be fully seated down. You will know when it won't go any lower.

The B6 are not meant to be ran with lowering springs.

You need to run b8s if you're lowering. B6s are valved for stock height.

Thanks for the reply. Im just worried about harsh ride on the 8's and Eibach springs. Living in the NE (CT) the roads are not in the budget if you know what i mean...

I run KONI Yellows with Eibach Pro-Kit springs in Michigan...trust me I know bad roads. B8s should be good as well, I've heard great things about Bilstein. Some others have mentioned that B8s can be a bit rough though at times. KONIs are a little more dialed back for daily driving.

how's the body roll with koni yellows? you think koni and dinan is good combo?

2011 335i xdrive refresh

I recently had my springs, struts, shocks, and front end components replaced and thought I would post my thoughts. The car is a 2011 e90 335 with x drive with 107,xxx miles and I am sure none of the parts I had replaced had been touched. I am the 4th owner of the car and I purchased it with 62,xxx miles.

I read countless posts/threads and spoke with some people and ultimately decided a OEM plus type of set up. This is my daily driver, so I wanted some improvement over stock, not a track car. I purchased Dinan springs (from ECS Tuning and Bilstein B8 struts/shocks (from FCP Euro) and the 10 piece front end kit from FCP Euro (control arms, tie rods, ball joints, etc). All mounts were replaced with OEM type parts (no polyurethane bushings). All the parts were installed by a local tire shop along with an alignment.

After two weeks and about 350 to 400 miles, things have settled and I believe what I have now is how the car will ride/handle for the next several years. The front end sits very close to the height just prior to replacement. I am sure this is because the original struts were blown and riding low. The rear is about 0.75 inch lower than just prior to replacement. The ride is noticeably more stiff and there is some more NVH, but not nearly as harsh I was expecting. On broken pavement, it is not comfortable. There is much less dive during braking and squat during acceleration. The car is much flatter during cornering. Bumps are felt once, so the car feels very controlled over large bumps. I did drive through a local mountain pass after just a few days and I really like the results. It should be even better now that there are a few miles on the suspension.

As for the control arms, bushings, tie rods, etc., I highly recommend that 10 piece kit if your front end parts are worn. Those parts have greatly improved the steering feel and turn-in. I know the thrust arm bushing were gone. I am looking forward to more driving with the new parts.

I'm in Colorado as well and that is what worries me...

I recently replaced my stock (blown) struts with B4 and I'm not terribly impressed. Certainly better than where I was at but they still feel a bit loose to me. Unfortunately Colorado roads are mostly crap so there's a tradeoff. The new struts did completely get rid of the "pothole crash."

I would like to get a bit stiffer than the B4 but not sure if B6 is a step too far. I don't want to bring the "crash" back...

At this point swapping struts is pretty easy for me so I might try tossing some Koni's on there. I live in the mountains so I need to keep stock ride height for the winters.
