Robb, Since your checking the forums and answering questions at the moment...do you have any plans of implementing a "change maps on the fly" feature in the very near future...id love to be able to switch to different maps while on the rode esp to valet mode without having to pull over park my car and change the map when having my car valet.

If you switch between map versions, it's like 45 seconds for a switch. If you're switching between different versions, it's about 10 minutes. Not sure if that's what you're looking for but it's the closest we can get.

Yes, the BMW ATP page was built into the new website and wasn't hidden when we rolled out the new website over the weekend while BMW ATP was still in beta. We'll get it back up when we release the software.

Thanks,

Haha... I was just kidding, I know some people hit refresh every 2 seconds even after an update comes out.

Sometime next week I would guess. Jason is finishing the creations of all the maps. So far we have been testing these maps for a while now. There was one little issue holding them back that has now been fixed and will also be incorporated into the Stage 2+FMIC mapping.

The initial release will be beta, but you are more than welcome to try the mapping. It is safe.

Cheers,
Rob
Ok cool. What are the changes to this map vs the prior stock 1 map?

The map switching on the cobb GTR is much better (instantaneous) and can hold up to 9 maps! Don't see why this couldn't be implemented on our cars...

From what I know about what's going on, on the fly map switching is definitely possible but the older OTS stage 1/2 maps would not be supported. Only the "newer" maps that are pending release.

Map switching is on my list of todo, but probably not in the very near future.

Rob, just to be clear: V400 maps should be available next week in beta? as in the way stage 2+ was in "beta" for months but still available for download?

Not trying tp pin you down to saying it will be out next week, just getting a reasonable guestimate.

I think I feel the "surge" people are talking about on stage1 agg. Any thoughts on the cause. Boost seems to be there, more like a hesitation when floored. In 1 log I saw timing jump about 3deg which was odd and may explain the feeling. I assume v400, this is addressed?

The only surging i experience is on stage 2+ when doing a 3rd gear pull from a low RPM under HEAVY load. I need to log it.

Here's an old log from my car with the surge on stage 2+ sport. You can see it's making very little boost until 4k rpms, then comes in all of a sudden.

For those experiencing a surge or hesitation or oscillations, try out a fresh reinstall of the linear maps. I can't believe how smooth and fast the car feels tonight.

Apart from the smoke coming from the exhaust and the f@&$ing wastegate rattle that is... Lol

I dont think the cause has really been discussed much...I know Cobb is working very hard on the fix and actually mentioned on a recent post that I think they got it fixed (in v400) and ready for beta release..I havent seen the timing jump that you saw during the hesitation so maybe I need to log a bit more and see if I get the same..(Although im running Stage 2+FMIC ST)

Mine is not exclusive to 3rd gear...but I agree I notice it more in the 3rd gear

I think i was one of the first to report this to cobb and i have auto, and i feel it the most when 4th gear and you WOT at 2.5k rpm, you feel the initial kick then at 3k its dies on you and rpms take forever to get to 4k, then it comes back alive after that.
I think the problem is with the concept of controlling boost during load and when timing goes negative so that it starts its climb again. Whichever i just want it fixed already.

PS: Sometimes i dont get the surge, especially when holding the car at 2.8k rpm (boosting) then WOT after.

They never mentioned that the 3-4kRPM problem is fixed in version 4. They said they are still working on it in another post, and then in one post they just said that the version 4 is close to release and they had an issue holding them back which is now fixed. The issue fixed in version 4 may not be that issue that you guys are talking about, they never said that. If you ask me, I suspect that they are still working on the 3k RPM issue.

This graph isn't very good... You should isolate 3rd gear and remove RPM so the scales are a bit better. Also move IAT over to your secondary y-axis.

I've had this problem since September... I'm itching for the fix!
