New car help!!!!

Guys I recently purchased a 2008 335i E90 6MT. It has Tial Bov, Upgraded charge Pipe, and BMS DCI. I installed MHD and flashed it back to stock to make sure map wasnt corrupt. Lack of records with car. Codes are limp mode 2aaf, 30ff. Only gets to about 4 psi of boost WOT

Looks like a pretty significant boost leak,

Replace all vacumn lines if you haven't done so recently, also check intake, charge pipe/BOV, I would suggest you check the vacuum canisters, especially the connection points as well.

Let us know how you get on.

Datalog Request :)

Hi, i recently put up some datalogs about a month or so ago and although everyone said everything but IATs were too high due to having having stock intercooler but boost was at 15 psi MAX at 3rd gear and 2nd was barley hitting 14 psi even after my VRSF 7' Intercooler, so i bought new VANOS solenoids from ECS (off-brand) and voila noticed alot more boost in low gears. Wanted to post updated logs, E85 mix might be a little off since i never tested the content but still use a mixing app until i get the MHD Flex Flex module. I feel like post shift i have a lot of delay (have the bog checked in MHD) but could be the slipping clutch/flywheel. There's 3 logs there, Thanks in advance!

IATs get pretty high even on Stage 1, after a few pulls. When I checked on Stage 1 98ron map with about 13-14 psi boost, it was hitting about 130-135 Farenheight quite quickly and then backing down very slowly afterwards as well. Stock intercooler is ok on stock boost, anything other than stock boost levels it is pretty bad. I also noticed timing corrections at higher end due to high IAT's. Yes your right about worn solenoids being the cause of low boost levels, that can also happen.

That log looks fine, your hitting very close to boost targets.

To me it seems you're not hitting boost targets and hit high wgdc. Check chargepipe/diverter valve O-rings or bov and vaccuum lines/boost solenoids.

I can hit 18psi high rpm 4th gear easily on stock turbo's, stock intake...

At higher end of rev range he's off target by a few psi, yeah your right worth checking those, but it might just be worn turbos/wastegates.

Hey all! Car idles great but when I hit 3k rpm in first it stutters and surges. New to evaluating these logs and appreciate any help I can get!

https://datazap.me/u/nismo/log-15949...og=0&data=3-21

Also car has intake but is otherwise stock, no tune.

Hi All,

I have a 2009 135i MT which I am being turned off from by it's poor boost control and what feels like inconsistent and unpredictable power delivery. I am having problems with timing being pulled up to 7 degrees at WOT and throttle closures when boost goes slightly over target. The worst aspect of this is that when cornering it is often difficult to tell what power level you will get from a given throttle input and the car feels like it surges. I have also noticed that at about 3000rpm the power surges like the system comes off closed loop and goes into open loop.

Mods are light on the ground
Stage 2 98 ron MHD v8 map
VRSF downpipes
VRSF charge pipe

Maintenance done
Valves cleaned
Brand new OEM turbos
New HPFP
New Eldor Coils
NGK 97968 1 step colder plugs gapped to 0.020"

Appreciate any insight on what's could be causing this and if the log looks healthy.
Many Thanks, Graham

You need to log IAT and WGDC as well.

Relog with those and post log.

You have numerous timing corrections which could be due to a number of things. Such as IAT's climbing rapidly due to intercooler etc

I also suggest you run V7.1 or V9 maps.

V8 maps have issues reported by several N54 owners.

First time logging with MHD, please take a look.

Car is stock aside from DCI and upgraded charge pipe w/stock diverters VTA, 93oct. Want to be sure everything is looking good before I start modding.

Recent maintenance and repairs - boost solenoids, cleaned Vanos solenoids, Eldor coils, stock Bosch plugs, walnut blast, valve cover, RB external PCV/Mishimoto low side OCC and plugged head ports. OFHG, OCG, serpentine belt with tensioner and idlers, CSF aluminum radiator, vaccuum lines.

Car is a 2010 with 62k miles and index 7 injectors(yes, that's on my list to do next).

Logs look good to me, except for my IATs and it's clear that should be my first "mod". Anyone see anything that is suspect? I do have some timing corrections once I get into 4th gear, and I'm wondering if that has to do with the sky rocekting IAT.

Your timing corrections, although not serious, come in when your IAT's skyrocket, so I'm pretty sure it's due to the intercooler.

Intercooler upgrade is highly recommended. You will be able to push much higher boost consistently with a good 5 or 7 inch intercooler. Stage 1+ map is recommended by MHD, which will give you about 390bhp and about 600nm torque.

Thank you, that was also my suspicion. Now I get to have the fun of picking the right FMIC.

Hello all,

recently did the MHD back end flash to my JB4 and I just wanted to make sure everything is looking good as I want to start using e85. Mods are as follows:

JB4 Map 5/MHD Pump gas back end flash
DCI
Downpipes
Aluminum chargepipe w/ Forge DV's
PR Ignition Coils
NGK 1 Step colder gapped to .20
Stock exhaust

Your IAT's are spiking, which is probably why your getting quite a few timing corrections towards the end of the run.

You need an intercooler upgrade, the one you have isn't good enough.

Hi guys, I made the switch to the MHD flex fuel. Let me know what you think about the log.

2009 335XI auto trans
VRSF Turbo inlets
VRSF 7" HD intercooler
VRSF catless down pipes
Fuel-It Stage 2 LPFP

I was shooting for a E30 blend. I just filled the tank, drove about 6 miles, and then made this data log.

Finally flashed my 335is to the MHD Stage 1+ with E50
Mods: DCI, BMP Stage 2 LPFP

I have the 5" intercooler, but have not installed it yet since I just received in the mail earlier today. Car feels great and plenty of fun for being just a stage 1. Luckily it was in the mid 60's when I logged.

These logs probably have a max of 5 miles since the flash:

Why not run an e85 map if your running that much E?
