2018 winter build cont

Another cold and dark winters night in Melbourne but spcgry is getting closer to being finished. bumper and bonnet back on (well tacked) into place for the first test drive. Lots of error lights and clunking noises, but were able to drive around the block and test out the manual transmission... All working as it should

Next is to finish off a heap of little jobs, wiring, fitting the panels properly, reinstall interior, etc etc....

Poor quality pics below

What is covering your coilpacks?

Why no turbo blanket?

Is the down pipe wrapped?

Did you not wrap your last DP and had no issues?

I only ask as it is cheap insurance. I had mine ceramic coated inside and out too but wrapped it just to be safe. I know your manifold is different but I assume the downpipe is in the same place generally speaking. Almost everyone on the n54 wrappes their downpipe.

After 2 months this finally arrived from Pinnacle Specialty Performance

PSP 900ic HD high density 7" FMIC

Seriously the trouble I had with PSP, makes it really hard to recommend these guys.

Basically they took orders and money before the units were ready (but didn't mention that on their site) ignored emails and gave dates for delivery that came and went. Finally when it did arrive, it wasn't wrapped in plastic so all the foam from the packing was stuck in the grills which required about 30 min of removing using a pin and a vac to remove

You have been warned folks

Build quality looks good with nice welds, has a few scratches and a couple of bent vanes so no so happy with that

Hopefully it fits without too much trimming and stuffing around, will give a full update when we install it later in the week
