well TBH man they don't get much cheaper that $500 or so... why not just keep it since you know where its been, how its been treated and how much its been used?

Like I said, is the $500 really making or breaking the 5d3 purchase? You'll want a backup or even a 2nd body with a 2nd lens when you shoot stuff like races - especially if you're doing it for pay eventually.

Nah I could still afford it if I kept the 50D, but I know I won't be using it anymore once I get the 5D3. I have a hard time keeping stuff around that doesn't get used. I'll be shooting a lot of low-light stuff until car stuff starts up again in the spring, the main reason I'm going 5D3 is so I don't have to deal with the 50D struggling in those conditions. Plus I plan on doing a good amount of video. I'll probably put that $ towards buying a new Mac next (my 2.4ghz core 2 duo is starting to show its age).

I said the same thing about my 40D last year, then I realized I needed it and had to go buy another one (got a 50D instead but that's besides the point). Just a hassle going back and forth and you could easily see yourself buying another one in 6 months because there is a need for it and then you'll look back and say why did I just go through all this trouble of selling and buying the same stuff.

Suit yourself though.

Maybe you should sell it and buy Hester a pair of hands...
