i have the EXACT same issue like you but mine started when i went from 450 to a 525 pump. Never had an issue with the 450. if i keep driving at 80+ psi the ekp will overheat and the car will shutdown. I upgraded to a ekp 3 no difference, coded it with protool, no difference. still looking for answers, i was thinking of going back to 450 hoping that will help my issue. Let me know if you figure it out by changing lpfp sensor.
I pulled up some logs on pulls I did a few months ago with the stock LPFP......it pretty much did the same thing. Hung right around 72psi before a pull, and then would jump up to 82-ish psi after a pull...and just stay there.

At this point, I'm thinking it's normal....maybe the DME changes it's target pressure when it sees a big load on the motor, and keep it there for a while?

No, it should come back down to 72psi.

Possibly the fuel regulator on the passenger side of the fuel tank.

def. not normal, try touching your ekp after 10 mins of driving at 80+ psi, its HOT, the car will shutdown if you keep driving at 80+

So running at 72psi is just fine, but running at 80psi will overheat the EKP?? It's only a few psi difference.....I can't imagine the amp draw being much different.

Here is the amp draw chart from Walbro on their 450 pumps.....looks like 0.86 amps difference between when it's making 70psi versus 80psi. Hard to believe .86a is enough to make or break an EKP.......

i am running a 525 and that one draws more current than the 450, i never had an issue with a 450 in there.

Need a favor... can someone check their throttle position gauge and see if the gauge jumps from approx low 20's all the way to 81 without really applying too much throttle.

v7.1 does this same behavior regardless of linear throttle mapping selected.

v8 behaves the same except when linear throttle is selected it doesn't jump and gradually increases as expected.

Any help seeing if this occurs on other cars is greatly appreciated.

Throttle is not linear by default, only when you check the linear throttle map option.

Did you reset throttle adaptations after checking linear throttle map and flashing V7.1map?

Yes sir I've reset adaptions etc... I'm going to flash back to v7.1 without linear cause I like the way 7.1 pulls vs 8 and linear is not my cup of tea. I will post just a steady acceleration log and check out the the way the throttle PS reacts. Otherwise car runs great, no codes etc.

Yeah, 7.1 runs better in my opinion too,

I am new to tuning, and just flashed my ‘11 335xi (87xxx miles) today to MHD stage 1. I recently had a Wagner catless DP installed, and replaced my charge pipe as well. I’m running stage 1 because I had my turbo chra clamp recently ~repaired~, and my mechanic advised to take it easy and wait a week until he can check and make sure it’s still holding up to push any more power. Anyways, I got this car about 2 months ago and I’ve had to do a handful of repairs since including but not limited to the water pump, VANOS timing, and charge pipe, so I was hoping somebody could look at a log I did earlier today and tell me if you see any red flags. Was a 25-65 pull, about half throttle. Feedback is much appreciated!

That's not a good log to identify any issues.

You need to turn DSC fully off, then be in 3rd gear, about 2500rpm, then go full throttle until it shifts into 4th, then back off after a few secs.

3rd gear log would be good.

Have you tried V9 maps, should be better than V8.

Personally prefer v7.1 maps

Here is a better one, mostly based on your instructions:

Thanks for the help, and I look forward to your feedback!

For some reason....even though you have the pedal mashed, it looks like your throttle closes several times during the run. Is the traction control turning on?

It shouldn’t have been, I turned it off, is there anything I needed to do other than just press the button?

Did you do a long press to fully turn it off? A brief DSC OFF message should pop up on the cluster and a small orange triangle with an exclamation point should appear and stay on when it is full off.

You need to hold the button down for 5-6 seconds to fully turn the traction control off.

Try that.....just be careful.

Here are some 3rd gear pulls as requested. Was wet out but MPS4s still hooked. I'll try v9 tomorrow if weather's better & will post logs as well.

Throttle closures are due to overboosting
