Has anyone tried hooking up the recommend cable from page 1 of this thread to a laptop using USB 3.0 and knows it to be working?
Looking to purchase a laptop and the newer models have USB 3.0.The USB3.0 ports are backward compatible with 2.0 device, but I just want to be sure. |

Wait, what? Partitioning your hard drive has nothing to do with RAM.... If you have 6GB of RAM and run 32-bit, you'll only get to use up to 4GB (in reality, somewhere between 3.25 and 3.75 for technical reasons), but you don't have remove extra RAM since it'll just go unused -- and you definitely don't have to partition your hard drive, unless of course you want to install 64-bit separately. But honestly if you want 64-bit to take advantage of the extra RAM, I'd just use a 32-bit VM for coding. Much easier than dual booting, especially if that's all you'll use the 32-bit environment for.

Agree. You can get 32 bit Virtual XP free from Microsoft. I use it for TIS under Win7 64 bit.

Its free but you need to have Professional or Ultimate edition of 64bit to get the Xpmode for free...You can get it working with Home editions 64 bit but it takes alot of coaxing to get it working...Changing the OEMbios and shit

Btw, it has been reported that it works in Win 7 64 bit environment. If you right click the application, you can select 'Windows XP SP3' under compatibility mode. Last edited by dieselgg; 07-15-2012 at 11:03 AM.. |

Another coding success.
My cable arrived from one-stop ahead of scheduled and I managed to cobble together enough of INPA, toolset32 and NCSExpert to get started with my 2008 E90. I have:

As far as I know TIS has to be installed under SysADM which itself has to be installed under WindowsXP. So I use Windows Virtual PC to run a Windows XP Mode virtual machine under Windows7 Ultimate 64 bit.

Hi
I have bmw e90 2005(europe) with pre lci halogens and I was going to get oem lci halogen headlights with angel eyes. I would like to make corner delete mod so there is only angel eyes as a drl and when I use low/higbeam corner lights are also gone. I called Bmw dealership and asked about that but they have not done that before. So I would really appreciate it if you could post me some tips so they could do it faster and cheaper. Thanks for help in advance. Last edited by dotzmugello; 07-25-2012 at 04:45 AM.. |

CCC, 6FL, XM, BT coding
Hi guys!
I have just retrofitted CCC, 6FL, XM and BT to a 2008 328xi, but I'm getting stuck in coding. After reading through many threads, I think the best method to code these is to change the VO first in the CAS and NFRM, and then process car-> code car. I can code the CAS, NFRM, CAAPL, and KOMBI fine (using Ediabas 7.2, v45 daten, NCSExper 3.1). I am having lots of problems trying to "code car", which I have posted here: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showpo...2&postcount=49 and here http://www.e90post.com/forums/showpo...9&postcount=52 I've read through many threads, and in the process helped myself along (as you can see from the updates), but I'm still getting IFH0009 no response from control unit for TCUM, 2MULF, and probably others too. Has any coded the 2MULF, TCUM, XM, as well as CCC? I assume if I connected the MOST connectors wrongly, then nothing should work, since the ring would be broken. But Navigation is indeed working fine, never had a problem. "Just" no audio, or BT, voice control, USB, XM... Some threads seem to suggest that the MULF or TCUM has to be coded using OPPS, and not DCAN. Some others suggest that DCAN is just fine. Would autologic units be capable of such coding too? If so then I might just take it to an indie shop. Thanks, D |
