The AP eliminates the CEL but it does not fool the DME into completing the O2 readiness test, essential for OBD-based emissions inspections.

The "DP fix" (stop calling it that, it's a freaking O2 simulator) is needed to alter secondary O2 voltage levels to achieve readiness.

Since the search engine is congested with COBB post .. Is cobb going to release a race gas map ? or is there one out ?

A new thread should be started due to the 192 pages of none stop idiotic questions like mine.

90% of questions on this thread are asked every 2 pages, so just go back a few pages and you'll likely find your answer

Does anyone know if idle will be adjustable with ATP/ATR? I honestly think i'd be a lot happier with my car if it idled a couple hundred RPMs higher.

Not, they're working on it but it's probably a ways off.

Thanks, but unfortunately I have no computer/internet access so INPA is pretty much out of the question for me Hopefully when I go to get ATP tuned later this month/early next month I can get it adjusted then.

Couple more weird issues with Cobb tune I just noticed...

Just got car back from scheduled service and was running it w/o tune, then reinstalled tune shortly after and noticed the following.

1. adaptive headlights do not work with tune - was this a known issue?
2. get a high pitch whine at idle when tune is present, see video. I could not replicate this with the tune uninstalled

I can't watch youtube stuff at work so no comment there, but my adaptive headlights work fine. Try reinstalling and see what happens or try using a different map.

Can't imagine that the Cobb tune has any effect on the headlights.

As you probably know, the adaptive feature only works when the switch is in the full counter-clockwise "automatic" position. If you haven't done so, you may want to double-check that.

I've had a fucking nightmare with my adaptive headlights though, infact it's at the dealer right now for an adaptive headlight issue. Something that is, acccording to my dealer, becoming an issue is the seal on the headlight seperating allowing moisture into the headlight destroying the lighting control module. Apparantly it took them 3 seperate visits and 2 1/2 months to figure out

it is more of a cylic high pitch. Almost like a power steering pump or belt. The reason I "thought" the tune was responsible for the whine was I could not reproduce the issues off the tune.

I could be wrong on the lights. Dealership said they are working but I no longer see them auto-level like I used to when turning them on...? Checked when tune was already installed.

I could be overreacting.

Never mind auto-level, but try moving your steering wheel left and right with the lights on - see if they move with the steering. Of course, make sure the light switch is set to "A".

Since ordering my Cobb, I notice that my trunk has some unused junk in it. I hadn't checked before, so I think it must be related. I knew once I ordered a tune that I'd start having problems....

I didn't request overnight shipping, since I've waited years, the $40 didn't seem justified at the time. Now the few days en-route seems like years...... I hope to have my unit today/tomorrow and plan to perform the extensive installation process this weekend.

I'm currenly running an Evolve stage 2 map, do I need to flash the DME with the latest BMW stock software or can just put Cobb over the Evolve map?

Are there any benefits of putting this on top of the latest BMW standard software rather than an existing tune?

Sorry if this has been covered!!

How long are these maps typically in beta? If I'm stock stage 1, what do people think I should start with - beta or the production?

I have 93 octane, at least that's what the pumps always indicate. I plan on starting with the sport mapping and may try the aggressive stage 1 once everything checks out.

Thoughts?

p.s. Does everything cobb related really need to be in a single thread? I wouldn't want to break a tradition, but this is ooooonnnnnneeee looooong thread.
